Looking for free ringtones esp. Christmas ringtones. I don't have the data plan so it would have to be through text, I guess. I'm new to this so any help would be great. I don't want to pay for any downloads. thanks

Typically, all Verizon Wireless phones are disabled (by the manufacturer) to accept any ringtones/add-ons other than those purchased though VZW's "Get it Now" service.

We have used the www.mobile17.com website to create and send ringtones to our verizon phones via text message without any problems whatsoever.

which phone do yo uhave?

I'd highly suggest you go to www.howardforums.com as there are tips and hints on how to do this.

I had a motorola MaxxVE and I recorded on my laptop my kids saying "I'm calling you" and "Mama's calling" The 1st one my DD was sick so she has that sickie voice which is cute.

I converted them to a sound file, and with software that the name is on HF, transferred them free of charge (software is free too, NOT a hacked file or anything).

With my ne LG phone, I used BitPIM to transfer the same files to the phone. i also transferred scaled to fit images for my walpapers.

you can PM me if you want more info.

We have verizon wireless and get all our ringtones for free using phonezoo. It is very easy to use.

I use phonezoo for my ringtones. We upgraded just over a week ago, I've already made a custom ring, custom text and custom pic message tone for myself, and I've made tones for the kids too. FREE and very easy, you just have to own the music you use. Oh and I make mine private so only I can access my tones. :)

My kids got a hold of my phone one afternoon and sent all kinds of ringtones to it and assigned them to my frequent callers. :scared1:

They're lucky that a) I love them and b) they're too big to spank. The song about rogaine when my dad calls is pretty damn funny, tho... :lmao:

LOL...I think that would be hilarious if I got my 2yr saying mommy mommy mommy (just like the family man commercial) Not that funny when she does it for 20 minutes but cute for a home ringtone. now I need one for my sexy hubby :rotfl:
I just got the env 3 but think I'm going to go get the chocolate touch instead.

Thank you for this post! I just downloaded some great stuff at phonezoo. Gotta love the Dis!

I got the EnV3 in Maroon, DBF got it in Blue, we love them!! :) I looked at the Chocolate but just couldn't make the leap just yet......:)

how do you record and upload a sound? then get it to your phone?

Go to the website, click to make a ringtone, you will upload your song/sound and then convert it to a ringtone. You are able to make it shorter or longer and change where it starts/stops as well. Then you just text it to your phone and when you get your text you chose the option of setting the sound as a ringtone. That's it.

If you have itunes, you can make 30 second mp3. Just change the .mp3 to .mid and email it to your phone at YOURNUMBER@VZWPIX.COM so like 5551114444@vzwpix.com.
I have my wedding song (have I told you lately) playing when my DH calls. When my friens call, it plays You've got a friend in me.

Very cool. I am going to check out phonezoo.

I always thought with Verizon you had to purchase the ringtones from them.

I really do like the env3. I just was playing with my husbands rogue and realy like the touchscreen. If it wouldn't have been for the stupid data plan change required on that phone, I would have got that one. I don't know yet. Still playing.

okay, but how do I get the sounds on my computer??? I don't have an ipod or anything, I'm soooooooooo far behind

You only need windows media player, then you just copy your music onto your computer and go from there.

This is what my kids did. I've done it, as well. I upload my favorite snippets of my favorite tunes for ringtones. I just switched mine on Friday to the Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies.
