I'm considering upgrading my phone for an Iphone4 the 8gb is $100 less than the 16gb, do I need the 16gb or can I save myself $100? Thanks, Linda :)

It really depends on how much music/movies/etc you plan to keep on your phone. My personal opinion is the bigger the better (a friend of mine actually just bought a 4S and had a heck of a time finding a 32G, but that's what he needed).

I don't plan on putting much music on it I rarely use my ipod and thats just a little shuffle I think 1gb. I might put on a few Disney movies for DS and on our Ipad I dont have that many apps so I dont think I would have a real lot on the Iphone. Linda :)

I believe there is more of a difference between 8GB and 16GB. the 8GB is an iPhone 4 and the 16GB is an iPhone 4S. The 4S, has a few more features than the 4. Go to Apples website to read what the differences are between the two phones.

I believe AT&T offers the 8 gb iPhone 4 - my friend has this and she is maxed out with only a few apps on hers. She did have a lot of photos and a few videos she took of her son. She had to delete photos just so she could take more.

I have a Verizon 16 gb iPhone 4 (not 4s) and I have more than enough room even though I have 45 videos (short ones taken by me, not movies), 1400 photos, and 85 apps. I still have only used about half my capacity.

So while the 16 gb is more than enough for me, her 8 gb is WAY too low for her (or me).

So if you are OK with a limit on how many apps and photos/videos you take, than it may be worth the savings. I'm glad Verizon didn't have that option b/c I probably would have gotten the cheaper verision also and it would have frustrated me. I'm not sure you would have room for many full length videos or movies. I would save that for the iPad.

16 gig minimum. this is part of why I don't like iPhones, I have an Android and can upgrade my memory by simply adding a memory card, I currently have a 16 gig but have a 32 at home I need to get installed. :)

My 16 is almost full. When the 5 comes out I may even go higher.

I have 32gb on my ipad and I wish I had gotten the 64. It isn't full, I just can't keep everything on it.

I don't keep up on these things is there talk of a 5 coming out anytime soon? Linda :)

I remember last year we were replacing one of our phones and they were offering a rebate on the Iphone because there was a new one coming out, maybe I should wait a little while. I've never paid $169 for a new phone and I don't want to start now and thats my every 2 year price. Linda :)

Just a brag about iPhones - I used to want a new phone w/i a few months of every cell phone I ever had (since cell phones came out however many years ago) - the keys would get wobbly or loose or it would get scuffed/scratched and I was always dying for a new phone (even though w/ two lines I was able to get a new phone every year). I had about 4-5 blackberries in a row - I got tired of each one very quickly. I got my iPhone a year and a half ago and I have NO desire to get a new phone - I LOVE it. I'll use this one until it dies, which so far so good, as it is going strong and looks brand new. This is another reason I'm glad I got the 16 gb so I'm not wishing for more memory. Now all I do is get a new case if I want a refresh, :lmao: .

(This being said, I could change my mind if 5 has something just SO cool I can't live without). :rotfl:

It sounds like I would be better off with the 16gb now I'm wondering if I should hold out and see if they have any deals on them before the new ones come out. I would like to have it for our vacation in August so I guess can wait till then. Linda :)

Most likely they will not be any deal by August on the 4S. You won't see a price reduction in that one until after the new one is announced. Apple keeps their pricing pretty strict and rarely allow discounts off their set pricing.

Ok thanks for info. Linda :)

Ditto on the above. There are quite a few differences between those 2 phones, such as the processor, improved camera, Siri, etc. The iPhone 4 was released almost a year before the iPhone 4S. I personally would go with the 4S model.

Just a FYI, Verizon is changing their calling/data plans on June 28. It might be to your benefit to upgrade BEFORE then, so you're grandfathered into your current plan. Go a google search for "new Verizon calling plans" and you'll see the info about it.

I have an 8GB and have had no storage issues. All my songs from itunes fit and I have about 10 apps. I don't download things that take up a lot of space though like movies or files.

Same as previous poster, I have 8g and have half of that still available. I have one playlist from another ipod kinda of a best of but rarely even use it for music. I downloaded apps that I thought would be useful when traveling or not at home. Didn't really see the need for the extra cost for the 4s or space but that really depends on what you plan to use it for. Figure out your needs and then you can decide which one will work best for you.

I just want to point out you can get the iPhone 4 w/ 16 gb - you don't have to get the 4s to have the bigger memory. She didn't specify if she was looking at the 4 or 4s. I personally don't think the 4s is worth $100 difference, but the memory of a 8 gb to 16 gb might be. It depends what plan she is on what her options are. If you don't want to be limited spacewise, I would not go w/ the iPhone 4 8 gb - I would recommend the iPhone 4 16 gb. The 4s does have a better camera and Siri, but most people I know don't use Siri that much after the new wears off. Siri has a lot of glitches I've heard.

I just looked again the 8gb is an Iphone 4 and the 16gb is an Iphone 4s. Thanks for the info on the data plans I do remember them talking on the news recently about that, but I forgot all about it I will look that info and maybe purchase it before the 28th of June. Thanks, Linda :)
