Do any of you have one of these phones? I need a new phone - want to get one with internet capability and texting.. (don't have either at this time). My son is recommending either of these phones as we currently have Verizon and thinks these would be good for me. I do need a phone with a larger screen so I can read the smaller print.

What are your thoughts on either of these two phones? Good , bad.... tell me all.......

I've also been looking at these two. On the Verizon website you can compare the phones and read the comments. I did this the other day and saw that you can get the gps on the Droid X ,but not on the Droid 2, if that's something you're interested in.

One of the main diffs is that the Droid 2 has a slide out qwerty keyboard and the X is all touch screen. That is a deciding factor for many people.

If you want a big screen, the X is the biggest one around right now at 4.3 in.

Both phones come with Google maps/navi (gps) program which is wonderful and free. It does all and more than the paid navigation program from VZW.

I have a droid X and love it. It is BIG but the screen is so easy to read and use. I love the touch screen. The original droid motorola with the slide out keyboard was heavy. People complained about that. You should go to the store and play with both to be sure you like them. The Droid X barely fits in my pocket but I rarely carry it that way so it was a non-issue for me. If you carry it in your pocket you'll want to try it out before you buy it.

My DH has the incredible and loves it.

I  my X!!!

Takes great pictures (got my kids' first day of school earlier today), the LINES App for WDW is super cool, actually the free Alchemy app is a lot of fun, too, ummmmm---the free google Sky Map app is INCREDIBLE, I use my Bible app a lot, too...

Ok, I'm getting off topic here :)

The battery on it SUCKS. I've got to do the research and figure out how to stop certain programs from draining it all of the time, or else it's going to die in like hour 2 of me at WDW in a couple of weeks.

There is an app (free) called App Killer (or Task Killer, it's a little green guy) that I use and randomly close out all programs... it works well at keeping my battery life a bit longer.

I have an incredible and I'm not sure if I like it or not... I love the phone, but have lots of issues with answering calls (or should I say, not being able to answer them)

I have the Droid 2 while DH has the Droid X. The 2 has the qwerty keyboard, but the x has a bigger screen. Beyond that, they're pretty much the same. Oh, wait...my techy husband says his X has a different operating system (slightly older...but we only bought them about 3 wks apart) and that mine is the better operating system. :confused3

Really, for me the difference was the qwerty keyboard. I can't type on touchscreens...I end up messing up more than I get right.:)

I have an X and it's the best phone I've ever had (and I have had many!!). I don't normally like a touch screen keyboard (hated my BB Storm), but this one is excellent. If you turn in landscape, it's HUGE! And they have an amazing typing feature called swype. It is incredible and makes it so much easier to type.
I believe the X is supposed to be getting an upgrade to the same operating system as the Droid 2 in late August or early September.

If you will use it to take a lot of pictures, you might want to go with the X. The 2 has lower megapixels.

Cool! Thanks :)

Never heard of swype before? :confused3

I'm trying to decide between those 2 phones also!! Thanks for all the input!

I have the Droid Incredible and I love it!! It has an 8 megapixal camera. Internet is very fast. You have to use the task killer to clear your apps or ur battery dies fast. I also turned the brightness down a bit and now my battery lasts all day.

I have the X and I chose it over the other DROIDS because it comes with SWYPE. For those of you not familiar with it, it's a touch screen program where you just slide your finger over the letters you want to type (not touch them, but slide across the screen). It's very sophisticated so it recognizes what word you want to type and even puts in the spaces automatically when you lift your finger. With a little practice, you can go much more quickly than with a keyboard. I was afraid I'd miss the keyboard, but I love Swype so much!!

At first I was worried the X was too big (it's really huge for a phone). But now I can't imagine NOT having the large screen. I can read online without my reading glasses because the screen is so bright. Anyway I LOVE IT!

For those of you that have a Droid 2...do you have any reception/dropped call issues? We heard that the Droid 2 had some of the same issues as the Iphone4....so we've been holding off until more reviews come out.

I have the original Droid 1 and love it.

For all your Droid questions and answers check here

Also check out Seidio for extended batteries, cases chargers etc. Good stuff there. I have the extended battery for the Droid 1 and it lasts 24 hrs plus on normal use.
