Okay, DH said that he saw on a Fox News crawl that the iPhone is coming to Verizon in January!!! We were going to get Droids next month, but we may hold off until January 2011 to get iPhones. We are recent Apple converts and love our iPods and iMac, and we've really wanted iPhones... but we love our Verizon service dearly!

I hope this is true... I mean if Fox News said it, it MUST be (right?).

Just got back from Verizon and got the entire family Droid Incredible"s in talking with the store manager who took care of us I asked about the Iphone and when it is coming to Verizon. He stated no time soon maybe mid to late 2011. Also said that the Droid is a better phone and more than the Iphone. Also said that the Verizon version of the Iphone may not have the same features as AT&T's. No I do not trust anything that FOX NOISE reports.

I've waited this long - I'm not really holding my breath. I'm eligible to upgrade in August, so I'm thinking I'll get the new DroidX instead of waiting for an iPhone.. who knows how long the wait will be at this point.

I'm going to wait until an official announcement to make a final decision, but we were going to get Droids until this latest rumor came out. We're just eligible to upgrade now but if we wait a little longer we'll have a credit, too. So I dunno. I really want an iPhone, but I really love Verizon! Here's hoping.

As for iPhones, we would love to have them too but we just upgraded in November so we will wait a couple years, by then maybe Verizon will have the iPhone...LOL

OK, I could be losing my mind, and I hope I'm not... but last time we upgraded, we got $100 off DH's phone for not doing an "early" upgrade. I think. I will do more fact-checking and if I'm full of it, I will get back with you all and repent.

I'm not (completely) crazy! I went to our Verizon account and there is a "New Every Two" discount depending on what phone you get. Like for some of the Droid models it is $100 off in addition to getting the phone at the new activation price. "Credit" was perhaps the wrong word.

Are you talking about the New Every Two program? DF gets a discount ($50 or $100, depending on the phone) if he waits the full two years before upgrading.

I have a friend that works for Verizon, and she told me a couple of months ago that it would likely be 2nd half of 2011. She said that there were two main negotiating points that were holding things up but that when those were ironed out an announcement would be made...

Keep in mind two things...

1. The iPhone to Verizon rumor surfaces every year. There is a bit more this year to suggest it may be true.

2. Droid X launching July 15 is a significantly better phone than the iPhone. An ad for the phone in newspapers starting today even pokes fun that the Droid X has a double antenna design, allowing you to hold it any way you want. (As opposed to the iPhone which has serious antenna issues) By the time early 2011 rolls around there will be 2GHz Android phones. The iPhone will be seriously outdated by then.

Oh, ok..we've gotten the credit toward another phone in the past as soon as we're eligible (which wasn't actually a full two years). We've gotten either $50 or $100, which I thought depended on if we re-uped for one or two years, not which phone we got. I thought you meant when you go past the two years, you get more.

Wait, a Verizon salesperson told you a phone they sell is better than a phone they don't sell? Well, stop the presses!

OK new every 2, ya, we get that also. This past year we got 4 phones for about $100, maybe it was $75.

iPhone on Verizon rumors again?!? Geez. Don't hold your breath. Contracting issues between Apple-Verizon-AT&T will have us all waiting.

Remember, Apple will have to find space for the CDMA chip and the SIM Card in order for this to work. Verizon won't do that to their high end customers again, not after early crackberry issues forced business travelers to buy throw away phones when traveling to GSM countries, oh wait, that's everyone but us silly anti-trust loving Americans.

If Apple didn't lock down the Mobile Me service, I'd have jumped the Apple ship a long time ago. And if Verizon worked GSM.

I got an iphone for my birthday (not my choice) 1 year and 11 months ago. I am counting the days until I can leave AT&T.

I despise AT&T - I lose at least 25% of my calls. And this holds true no matter where I am in the US. The bigger the city the worse the service.

I like my iphone. I'd had 3 Treos before it so smartphones were not new to me. The iphone was definitely a step up. But the iphone is just not worth the awful service that AT&T provides.
