Well, the day had finally arrived. A year of dreaming, saving and planning was finally here, no wonder I was unable to sleep the previous evening!
At 6.30 we were up and showered and at 7.30 my lovely dad arrived to drive us the short way to East Midlands airport.
We arrived really early, but there was already quite a large queue, but we were moved through quickly and were at the front within half an hour. By half nine we were through security and ready for some breakfast. Simon had an English breakfast, I had sausage, beans and toast and Evie had beans on toast. It all added up to a ridiculously large amount, but hey ho! After a bit of shopping we were called to the departure gate and asked to queue up, where we were then kept for an hour due to a delay! Anyway, an hour later than planned we were off.
At this point I must take the time to say how impressed we were with First Choice. The leg room was brilliant and the service was the best weve ever received on a plane. I would highly recommend them.
I was slightly worried about the long flight with Evie but she was a star,
she didnt grumble once and managed to entertain herself for the whole flight, the cartoons on the seat back TVs helped though!!
Simon and myself loved the games on the flight, especially Solitaire and Battleships!
We finally land in Orlando, not sure what time, but are through immigration in just 15 minutes,
the bags appeared soon after and we were straight over to Alamo to collect the car, the queue was NOT 15 minutes here!
Anyway an hour later we were on our way to Port Orleans French Quarter, we found our way with no worries. When we arrived Evie was fast asleep in the car, so I checked in on my own. I was so excited, Im sure I was bouncing up and down as the CM talked to me!
We got round to our room in building three, which was a fantastic location, and put Evie into bed. Simon went to the food court to get us some tea and the refillable mugs, then it was off to sleep about 9.30.
Tomorrow: MK, the pool and Boma.
