Verifying Placeholder was used?

I booked through Costco this morning and realized the price seems higher than some other prices I see posted. Is there a way to know if they applied the discount from OBB?

The reservation number from the placeholder will be the reservation number for the cruise. Just double check they are the same. It's in the email confirmation DCL sends you when you book the placeholder.

You can price the cruise via the DCL website, which would give you the full fare with no discount. Compare that to what you paid and you'll be able to see that you received the OBB/placeholder discount.

I noticed recently that when I re-booked an OBB cruise that was cancelled, the reservation number actually changed from the original. I wondered if this was because the original OBB had an original expiration date that was earlier than the new cruise I re-booked to. In any event, another way I've verified if OBB was applied was through the Reservation Confirmation email... underneath the payment summary, there's a line "The following apply to the reservation... * Onboard Offer"

Maybe, but maybe not... mine should expire January 2022 but I currently have it applied to a May 2022 cruise due to the extension. The reservation number did not change.

Thanks all. The price matches what I see straight from the website, I don't see Onboard offer, and the reservation number is new. I have a feeling it was not applied. Time for a very long time on hold...

I used placeholders that expired from 2021 cruises that were cancelled. The CM had to issue me new reservation numbers and then apply the placeholder discount afterwards.

Was Costco originally named as TA for the placeholder? They can’t “apply” it if not.

For those interested, it turned out they had not applied the placeholder. 2 hours on hold, but worth it for the price difference! Thanks for your help everyone!
