Can you sign up for the Bike & Boat plan if you are staying at the BWV? What about if I sign up while staying at The Contemporary and then move over to the BWV?And can you reserve in advance? If you are DVC shouldn't you be able to use things at other DVC resorts?

My understanding is if you stay at say BWV and use the plan at WL, it is for length of stay ( be it 1 day or 2 wks ). Once you move to new resort it stops.

Also if you use plan at WL you cannot use the plan at Y&BC unless you pay again. You plan is only good for where you sign up.

This is how I understand it. Lets here from some others who have used this plan.

I don't believe you can reserve in advance.:Pinkbounc

I just called WL bike and boat rental shack. If you stay at multiple WDW resorts( I asked specifically about two) the unlimited plan will cover your entire stay. From check-in at first resort to check-out at second resort. You may only use it at the WL though. You cannot go to POLY and get boats. This is good news !!! I wish I knew this 2 months ago.

We're staying at the VWL in January, and will definitely be interested in both bikes and boats. Has anyone definitively determined whether it is really $199 for length of stay?

This sounds clearer as we are moving from Contemporary (Shages of Green) to our home at the BW and want to be able to transfer.

Yes its $199 with the DVC discount (@ $215 after tax) Good for up to 5 listed members on the renter's room card key. Rental's only include the 2 smaller pontoon boats, small V hull boat, mouse boats and regular bikes (assorted sizes and type with child carrier). Its does not include the surrey bikes.

Note: I have seen a lot of people disatisfied after the CM tell them that people should "return" after using any rental after 1 hour use. What they are supposed to say clearly is that renters are to return to the marina after 1 hour use in case other members/guests are waiting to use any of the rentals. Nobody would be happy if they went to rent a boat/bike on a busy use day to stand around for an hour or two because people are insensitive to anyone around them. They simply ask you to stop by in case they have a family waiting - if no one is there they will just send you on you merry way again for another hour of fun.

Enjoy it ! We did on our last trip and look foward to it on our July 2003 trip again !

We will be at BWV in 3 weeks and are considering using this boat and bike plan. If we do I will post on our usage. Thought this would be a fun diversion for my 7 and 9 year old that didn't require going into a park!

Which body of water do you consider the most fun for renting the boats. I would think that Seven Seas Lagoon would give you more to go see, but I have not rented at any other marinas other than Grand Floridian.

It is definitely better at a MK resort.
The body of water is much bigger.
You can get so great photos from your boat of the resorts and MK.
The bike path from WL to and around FW is probably the best on grounds.
And I have heard that the water mice at these resorts is also faster becasue there is much more room.

Do you have to be staying at the resort where you elect to do the plan? If we stay at OKW, can we do the plan at WL?

You do not have to be staying at that particular resort, but a WDW resort. You will have to show a room key each time you take boats/bikes out.

If you are doing this primarily for the bicycle, why not just go to the Walmart on US192 and buy one for less than $100.00. Then just find some kid to give it to when you leave.

if just the bike is needed that would be fine but I would plan on the whole thing. Does anyone know if you can use diffrent facilities like Mk then Bw?

Several of us seem a bit confused. I wondered if there is a place online where all the rules about the plan are written down. I heard someone mention it being on the members only website, but I couldn't find it.

Does anyone know were the rules might be listed???

Or is it just info you find out directly when you are signing up for it right in WDW???

Thanks!

I would think that Seven Seas Lagoon would give you more to go see

The Seven Seas Lagoon is the largest body of water on WDW property - It serves GF/PR/CR/WL/FL marinas. All the other resorts have "smaller waterways" some connecting to another resort area and some with a small "pond". If you want a quieter more calm boating experience, then the MK marinas arent for you during the higher/peak time of the year.

Do you have to be staying at the resort where you elect to do the plan? If we stay at OKW, can we do the plan at WL?

As disFan stated, you do not have to stay at the specific marina's resort to purchase the plan or rent any of the boats/bikes. You do have to be a WDW resort guest and where ever you purchase your marina plan - it is only good at that resort and not at any other resort.

Does anyone know if you can use diffrent facilities like Mk then Bw?

Like I said, no, not if you purchase the family plan at a resort. If you just drive up to a resort on any given day to rent a boat/bikes for 1/2hr, 1hr, 2hr, ete. - you can "taste" any resort at you will.

you don't need to be a member to use this although I do remeber seeing it somewhere. I'll need to get my brain jump started to try & remember.
