Does such an arrangement exist? We’d really like connecting, and one needs to be a veranda. We need two rooms though. The other would be fine as an oceanview. If those two connect somewhere that would be grand. If not, we’ll just pay the extra for two verandas.

No, there are no connecting rooms of different (main) categories, except in Concierge. You could also do a verandah and an inside room located just in front, if the second one doesn’t need to be an ocean view.

As Marc said this is unusual on Disney but I have seen it a lot on other cruise lines.

The 2019 Unofficial Guide to DCL says there are a few connecting cabins of different categories on the Dream and Fantasy: 9A/7A, 9A/6B, 9D/9A, 11B/10A, 7A/6B, 7A/5C, 6B/5E, 7A/5B, 7A/5A.

ETA: the pairings involving 9As and 9Ds all include one accessible cabin.

As TortoisetaughtU said, there are some cabins with this arrangement. We have a cruise booked on the Dream in October and have an accessible oceanview and connecting aft veranda. 6686 and 6688.
