Vera Bradley lovers... help would be appreciated!

Oh dear, just what I need, another Vera bag :thumbsup2 What is "TSV"? And do you mean VB will be on the QVC web site or on TV or ? I've never bought anything via QVC so I don't know how it works.

TSV=Today's Special Value

There will be several shows on QVC on TV during the day on Thursday, starting at midnight. You can either call to order or order online.

When do you think they will put the Boysenberry stuff on sale?

It will be a long time before Boysenberry goes on sale. That color just came out for Spring 2011.

Sorry you got the double whammy of sick + snow! I hope you're feeling better.

When do you think they will put the Boysenberry stuff on sale? I am feeling the need to own something in that color! I'm not sure how long it's been out. Is it too soon for them to retire it (and mark it 25% off in the stores)?

Yes I did, double whammy indeed! BOO! That's unfortunately part of working with kiddos who don't often think to cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough or whathaveyou. I'm usually pretty healthy...but germs are sneaky. I must have missed a spot in my daily bath in Purell! :headache: Poor me. Poor husband, b/c I am NOT a good sick person. I'm mad that I'm sick. How DARE germs try to take me down, i'm BUSY!

I can work from home though too, so THERE germs!

Boysenberry stuff on sale...hmmmm...that could be a long wait. I'm still waiting for Very Berry Paisley to go on sale. And Baroque. Those will go on sale long before Boysenberry and that crew see the sale side of their lives. At least that how's VB usually works. Colors like Call Me Coral have been out for a while now and aren't usually involved in sales. Sometimes if a particular bag or wallet is being phased out, all the colors will go on sale, but that doesn't happen very often.

I do agree though (enabling alert!) you should definitely have some Boysenberry in your life!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you! I'm going to have to check out QVC. I look at their pictures online sometimes because they seem to always show a mannequin carrying the bag, which is helpful in seeing the proportions/size, but I haven't bought from them yet.

I have my DVR set...just to see everything!! I don't buy from QVC very often, but sometimes they have GREAT deals. Other times the deals are just...meh. You have to catch them at the right time!!

I'm really excited for the new drawstring bag. It's so different from anything they've done before. I love cross body bags b/c they are so great for traveling and such..."park bags". I have family all over the place, in Ireland, Texas on the West Coast...so I travel a lot, which gives me an awesome excuse to buy travel bags!!! ("travel bag" is code for "I want that bag and need to justify buying it!")

and since I'm still sick with a fever I'm feeling very sorry for myself and a new bag would make me feel loads better!!! *sniffle*;)

Thanks, I'm going to have to find out what channel QVC is here. I love the promo picture of that drawstring bag. Cross-body bags are my favorites because most other kinds slip off of my shoulder and it drives me batty (plus I like having my hands free). I also have a thing about my bags zipping shut, but I'm trying to get over that lol! I like your "travel bag" terminology, do you mind if I adopt it to persuade my husband that these bags are practical necessities? :lmao:

Well darn it. But thank you!

Well it looks like I might have to wait a while, darnit. I think I want a handbag type style in it, because i think it would look really cute with denim.

I just got started on Vera Bradley. DH had purchased a lot of gift cards from Great Wolf Lodge during their 'spend x amount & get $10 bonus bucks' deal. So, we enjoyed spring break at GWL with family during spring break. We bought breakfast, pizza, and a cake, but still had bonus bucks left. DH didn't know what to spend them on, so I took the plunge & bought a Vera Bradley purse & wristlet.

Excellent! What style and color did you get? Do you like them? I love to hear about other peoples' bags!

have you ever gone to Youtube and done a search for "Vera Bradley"? There a TON of videos people have done of their Vera collections! There are MANY people out there who love and obsess over Vera Bradley!!

and just so people don't think I have one track mind...I also am obsessed with Disney...(obviously), running (marathons in particular...I have my eye on the Boston next year!), books, quilting, and about a zillion other things! The GREAT thing about all that is that I can tie all my other obsessions back to Vera Bradley b/c...I have to pack my Vera bags to do most of the things i LOVE..except reading...and in that case Vera Bradley has Kindle covers and book covers!:lmao:

My husband calls this "circular logic".

::yes::

works for me!!!

I watched a few, but they move kind of slow and I am not very patient! I watched one or two about the Metropolitan, but it was hard to see the detail because the prints are so busy. The ones I've watched, the people aren't wearing the bags, they were kind of demo-ing them by opening every pocket and putting things in.

I'm impressed you run marathons! I always wanted to, but my knees say no! I read a great book called First Marathons (I think that's what it's called) and it was very inspiring. I've never done more than a 10K, though. Did you ever run the Disney marathon? One day when I was reading DIS trip reports, I came across one posted by someone who ran the marathon, with links to video from during the marathon, and it looked like so much fun! It seems like they have some half marathons too, different times of the year maybe? Do you have to qualify for the Boston Marathon? You must be pretty fast! Good luck and have a blast if you decide to do it!!!

My husband and I were supposed to run the Goofy last year, but then we got the Swine flu 3weeks before the race. My hubs was incredibly ill. He ended up in the hospital for a week! It was wretched to say the least. He had a fever on the day of the race! It was March before we really felt able run again and when we did, we were wiped out after about two miles! The flu is NO JOKE!

We're planning to do at least the Donald in 2012! It's the 15th anniversary of my favorite duck's race!

The Boston is a beast in and of itself! You have to qualify in another marathon with a time of 3:40! And that's just qualifying to enter! It's a lottery system! It's a really rough course. It would be a huge challenge. I'm determined!!!

I really like Jeff Galloway's books about half and full marathon running. He has a great system that helps anybody who wants to run an endurance distance get through it.

And just for full circle's sake...the last race I was in, a woman spotted my VB duffle and we ended up running together for a while and we talked about our favorite VB bags and patterns! :lmao:

Sorry to hear about your bad luck with the Goofy. Hopefully the Donald will be a good one though! I've heard the Boston is a major one. That's why I said you must be fast :) You sound up to the challenge! I think I have one of Jeff Galloway's books, not sure which one now. He knows his stuff.

Now, how many hours until that QVC show starts? Taptaptap... lol! Since I can't run a marathon, I'm going to amuse myself by watching the Vera Bradley stuff!

The new colors and bags and accessories are officially on Vera Bradley.com!!:cool1:

It's fun seeing new patterns and such...I've got my eye on the travel wallet, but I've got to be honest...I'm slightly underwhelmed. Of the four new patterns, Viva Le Vera is my favorite, although I don't think I could take that pattern on a large bag. It's cute for the small accessories, the paper products...the smaller purses (the Quick Draw bag, VERY cute in this pattern!)...but that pattern on the big bags, :3dglasses TOO BUSY!! (at least for me...I'm weird that way!) Deco Daisy is nice...if you want a RED RED bag. It increases the possible clash factor though! :scared1: ;)The other two colors and patterns are nice too, just not colors I'm overly fond of personally. I'm not sure what exactly I was expecting. Initially I was a bit annoyed at myself for buying a Weekender in Boysenberry when the new prints were so close to being released...I'm a girl who LOVES choices. Now that they are out, I'm glad I went with Boysenberry. It's not so obnoxiously busy or bright that it will give me a migraine! It's understated enough that I won't wake up 6 months from now, be packing for a trip and suddenly have the "WHAT WAS I THINKING?!" moment!

Then again...

maybe I will.

I suppose that is the fun of VB bags. You can sort of go with the moment...They aren't SO overpriced (Coach:love:) that you have to consider them an "investment piece" and carry it for the rest of your life to make it worth the amount of money you forked over it! (I shared the term "investment piece" with a friend who purchased an LV bag on impulse. She used it on her husband and it actually worked...the word investment just drew him right in...the right vocabulary for these things is KEY! *ahem* ;):lmao:)

I'd love to hear what y'all think of the new bags and patterns!! What patterns do y'all love/like/dislike/loathe? Did anybody else get the Summer 2011 catalog in the mail? Those sneaky marketing folks at VB added a "$20 off any purchase of $75 or more" coupon to the last page. Now how am I supposed to control myself with that coupon staring at me all day?! I mean REALLY! :confused3

Happy almost SUMMER y'all!!! (I type this as the snow is falling fast and fierce outside...:headache:) It's SPRING...hello? Mother Nature and I are in a FIGHT!

she's totally winning.

*sigh*
:goodvibes

PS-there are other bags, patterns, textiles being released throughout April. Some solid color (lavender/pinkish) micro fiber bags...and some "straw" bags that are actually REALLY cute from what I've seen. Just keeping us on the hook...tricky tricky!!!

I have insomnia tonight, so I've already watched the QVC show. I admit I fast forwarded through a lot of the show, though. I tried, but I didn't have the patience to watch it straight through. I wasn't a fan of Viva La Vera initially, but they made it look pretty cute on QVC and now I like it. I love Deco Daisy, but it seems like more of a fall pattern, and I am not in love with the inside houndstooth pattern. Maybe it's just our cruddy weather, but I like the English Meadow in that Cinched Tote they were showing, or in something that size, because it's so summery. I love that quick-draw bag, too, in English Meadow, too.

I think their marketing department is genius. They seem really on the ball.

I've never gotten their catalog. I just signed up for their emails, but I don't know if that gets you a catalog too. Coupons would be nice!

I agree about the prices being reasonable enough that you can go with the moment. I was in a VB store last night and the only thing keeping me from buying 4 items on the spot was knowing I'd get to see the new colors when I go back on Saturday.

I have a couple of questions now that I think of it:

1. Will the All in One Wristlet fit my iphone? They seem to show it with a narrower phone in that back pocket.

2. Why don't they have a Kindle case? They have a sleeve, but nothing that you can keep it in while reading. The sales associate suggested the Mini Hipster, I think, but what would you suggest?

3. I am thinking of adding the Get Carried Away tote to my collection, to be used on plane trips with my large duffel. Will the GCAT fit under an airline seat, to be my "personal item" or is it too large? I am thinking of using it for my ipad and all those other things you carry on a plane and want to have within arm's reach.

Oh, and I got a catalog in the store last night, but no coupon. :(

I really don't like any of the summer patterns, honestly. Just...not me. It's okay, though-- I LOVE the fall patterns, so I do have things to look forward too!
Of the new styles, I love the passport cover, but not at that price. I also really like the luggage tag. The idea of the tech case is nice (I've been thinking I need something to hold my iPod charger, phone chargers, etc.), but I don't like the shape. I'll probably end up buying a small or medium cosmetic in one of the fall patterns to hold that stuff while on the go!

After seeing the all the new colors on the QVC show, I must admit they look very fresh and summery. Not bad. Viva La Vera is still my favorite...very happy little print if a bit busy...

I'm pretty certain that if you register on VB.com you will start getting the catalog. Although the catalog with the coupon on it might be from visiting an actual VB store, not just a retailer, and giving your info there. We ordered something at the store that wasn't in stock. Then again, maybe if you go to a retailer and ask, they'll hook you up!!

Oh, and I got a catalog in the store last night, but no coupon. :(

The all in one wristlet might fit an iphone. It doesn't fit my blackberry though. The Carry it All is the new version of the All in One. It has a bigger pocket! It also has a little snap strap to cover the top of the phone so it stays securely in the pocket! So if the all in one doesn't fit, the Carry it all should!

I never even thought about the mini hipster as a Kindle carrier! Good idea! It would give you extra pockets to keep things organized! It would also allow you to carry your kindle to wherever if you didn't want to carry a larger bag as well. I also wondered why the sleeve but no cover? :confused3 My Kindle is in a very cute little Kate Spade cover (that was actually made for the Nook, but I BROKE THE RULES!!!:cool2:)

I have a Get Carried Away Tote. I love it...but it IS really big! I haven't used it as a carry on, but I've seen TONS of other people do so. I travel a lot and the GCAT is one of the most common VB bags I see at airports. I've only seen one issue at the gate with a woman using hers as a carry on. She had stuffed it to nearly bursting AND she had given her small daughter one to carry. This kiddo could have fit IN the bag herself. The person at the gate was saying they were too big to use as a carry on. I think she meant they were too over stuffed. In the end the mom rearranged some things between her bag and her daughter's bag and they let her on. Usually though, it's not a problem. They are large, but if you don't stuff them to near explosion it shouldn't be a problem.

I really don't like any of the summer patterns, honestly. Just...not me. It's okay, though-- I LOVE the fall patterns, so I do have things to look forward too!

I use a small cosmetic to hold chargers and such! It's a great size and it fits anywhere. I also have one in my Coach bag for actual cosmetics and I have another one to carry my asthma "accessories"! :lmao:

I was thinking of picking up a couple of Luggage tags myself! OH...the new VB luggage is in Boysenberry!! Pretty much the same luggage they've always had but perhaps a bit more streamlined...same outrageously HIGH prices though!:scared1:

love love LOVE the 2011 fall colors!! Mocha Rouge is my all time favorite! That's the one I keep in my Coach bag!

this whole fever that won't go away thing has its perks...time to internet and get my VB chat on!!:cool1: one MUST find an upside to being ill and feeling yuck!:flower3:

I watched the QVC show last night and was underwhelmed too. I think I might get the travel belt bag (fannie pack) but I have to see it in the store because it looks kind of big and square. I wish they would come out with some better colors. I saw the fall colors online and a couple of them look like colors that already retired so I'm not too excited for those either.

I have just become one of "those people".

I was just sitting on the couch, being sick, puppy in my lap, watching the VB show on QVC. (there was a second one on at 10am!). I noticed that all the Viva La Vera print was GONE. Totally sold out. It's also largely sold out on VB.com. The one bag I think is really cute...the Quick Draw bag...sold out in Viva La Vera. That pattern is just wildly popular.

Not a big deal that it's sold out b/c I don't NEED any more bags. At all. I have too many. I just bought a weekender. NO MORE VB bags for a while.

Then I saw that the Quick Draw was still available on QVC.com. In Viva La Vera. For LESS than it is on VB.com.

I don't know WHAT came over me.

I bought it.

I lost control of myself.

I'm one of those people.

oh well.

nothing I can do about it now.

*ahem*

Bring on Viva La Vera!!!:3dglasses

See this being sick thing can become an online shopping problem. How do I know this? I don't usually spend too much time thinking about Vera Bradley stuff, but I've been laid up for about a month and I'm spending too much time on the computer as a result. But the retail combat/therapy ends today, with the purchase of... the Pleated Tote in Deco Daisy! I've loved this bag for a while but couldn't decide on a color. I was in a retail store and saw it in the Deco Daisy and this print is great on this bag. I couldn't help myself :rolleyes1 But I am seriously done!

It's amazing how much better it is to see the stuff in person. I thought I was going to love the Quick Draw, but when I saw it, it was too big for what I need it for. However, it looks awesome in the Viva La Vera, you'll love it. And I didn't love Deco Daisy online, and I didn't love it in some styles, but in others it's great. It's always like that - like with your Boysenberry, it looks so great in person. The online pictures don't do it justice.

By the way the store was giving away a cute coin purse with a purchase of a certain amount. I can't find it on the VB web site though, and I can't remember what it's officially called. It retails for $6. I got that in the Deco Daisy too.

I seriously just applauded your purchase!!! (and your free coin purse!) :lmao: I'm not alone!!!! I really like the pleated tote! I have always had a "thing" for red! I'm sure it looks fabulous! I am forcing myself to stay home b/c I KNOW the vb store is giving out freebies today!!!

Yeah, the online shopping retail therapy thing could easily get out of control! I'm climbing the walls though. I am ready to go back to work. I just have to be careful bc so many of the kiddos I work with are immune compromised and a fever means packing germs! I think I'm on the mend though! Fingers crossed!
