Vera Bradley lovers... help would be appreciated!

Tomorrow I get to take my VB hipster on a 'dry run.' I am taking my class on a field trip, so I'll be able to see how my bag holds up to a busy, active day. I mentioned this to a non-Disney, non-VB friend and she looked at me like I was crazy. So, I decided to share with people who would understand!


BTW- Thanks for the suggestions about the mini-hipster for DDs first bag. I think the Easter bunny will bring it. Now I just have to decide which pattern to go with!

My 12 year old DD loves the new Boysenberry color. Call Me Coral and Buttercup are popular too.

Does anyone have the Metropolitan? I'm thinking about getting this for myself from the Easter Bunny! I wonder if I could carry this as a "purse" and then bring my rolling carry-on bag on SW or if that would be too big to be considered my personal item.

You will LOVE the hipster! It's the perfect hands-free bag. I agree, Boysenberry would be nice for your DD's first Vera. Slate Blooms is also nice. Is there anyway you could get her to look at the patterns on the computer and get her to tell you what she likes without ruining the surprise??

I have the Metropolitan. I think it would be just fine as a "personal item/purse". It's not all that big. I love mine for work travel. It fits under the seat no problem. I've taken mine on a plane along with my weekender and nobody said a word. Especially since I had taken the shoulder strap off the Metropolitan and used the "handles". Very "large purse" looking! Some airlines are snarkier than others about carry on luggage. I saw a lady get hassled over a Get Carried Away Tote. They were saying it was far too large. She had stuffed it to the gills though, which is probably why she was having an issue. I've seen others with the same bag not have a problem at all. I'm in airports A LOT!

So I opened the VB site, and that Boysenberry rolling luggage is so nice! There is not a chance that I'm getting it, but I just love it. The inside print, especially, and that 22" roll along duffle!

Do any of you have a Bowler or a Squared Away or anything like that? I think they look nice (not for Disney, though, I like cross-body for that). I like a shoulder bag, but I'm pretty sure these can fit over the shoulder. Do you like yours?

I have the Metro in Blue Rhapsody as my school bag. I love it!

It's not too big, fits up to a 17" laptop and a bunch of my books. Like Campbell said, it's like a bigger Vera. My Miller bag is bigger and my Villager is a little smaller, to give you a comparison.

That said, when I got it, I looked at it in my favorite patterns. I found that it looked the best in the Blue Rhapsody.

And the Vera site is torturing me, because I want rolling luggage. I can't justify it right now, but that English Meadow is calling me. I'm thinking the birthday fairy needs to get on the ball this year and bring me Vera!

Oh, and we're getting a Vera Outlet store in Orlando at the Orlando Premium Outlets! You can get your Vera fix when you go visit Mickey. (or if you're somewhat local, like me, you can visit Vera, then see Mickey after seeing Vera)

Does anyone have any opinions on the Viva Le Vera. I bought the TSV on QVC and received this the other day. I can't decide if I like this print or not. It's very vivid lol!

I like it!!! At first I thought it was hideous but after seeing it in person it really is a fun pattern (as long as it doesn't have the black flower on it, lol). I got the new tech organizer in VLV. Love it!

Both are nice! Watercolor is probably more versatile color-wise, but I don't think Vera stuff really has to match. Love the wristlet - you can fit all your cards in one side and a checkbook & register in the other. Probably a phone too, although I haven't tried that.

I will have to check out the new bags. My all time favorite is being discontinued. So if anyone loves the Stephanie as much as I do you might want to get it now before they are gone. I really wanted it in the new deco daisy but they are not making it for the new colors since it is being discontinued. I sure hope they have something similar.

Definitely sign up for the emails! You get a jump start on sales and discounts and VB.com is ALWAYS having some sort of something. if you have a Vera Bradley store nearby (not a retailer but a brick and mortar Vera Bradley store) sign up for store specific emails as well. There are always good deals to be had!! Also check out QVC.com. Sometimes you can get great deals on VB items!

I loved the look of that lilac crossbody, but it feels stiff & boxy compared with their quilted bags. I think I'd have a hard time getting used to using it, but it's really beautiful. I didn't like the Rachel for the same reason. I think for me I just like a soft, unstructured bag when it comes to actually using it. I really wanted to like that lilac crossbody, though. That whole collection is really nice.

I was tempted to buy the hair clips, so cute. The bridge tote and criss cross bags are also really cute but I think I am going to pass on buying them. Did your step daughter like her Easter Vera?
