Venting about my job

yesterday I was suppose to work 8:30 till 4 well the second shift never showed up and I was there till 8, I was suppose to close at 8:30 but I was so mad I closed a half hr early. I should of left at 4. now I go onto my checking accont and I bounced a check, thats cause payday is Wednesdays and i get it on fridays. it is a family owned business and I am the only one that isnt family and they treat me like poo. I have been there for 5 1/2 yrs and I do more then I am suppose to do and I am getting taken advantage of, I hate the family I work for but like the job and my customers. Thanks for reading, I am so so mad

And you're in a very tough position of not going to the boss and complaining about having to stay late and not getting a paycheck.

We have a small, family-run business and we have certain members of the family receiving favoritism. In the past, we've been there with having to work extra hours and waiting for a paycheck as well. I know where you're coming from.

I know exactly what you are venting about!!! I also work for a small family (not mine) business. We have had no raises for almost 2 years while business is booming and they have bought a $25,000 race car truck and trailer and have no race car. In addition to using my car to run to the bank and run parts to the employees. I also get stuck babysitting their grandson alot, who doesn't know how to behave. I keep my mouth shut because I do get my DD on and off the bus here and she can also stay with me when I don't have a babysitter. Those advantages mean alot. So I put up with the bad stuff.
