Vent...why why why....

Oh man, the cashier definitely should have called a manager over. And yes, the sale should have been voided and started over so everyone else didn't have to wait......

The cashier was the true saint...my goodness..she smiled through the whole thing, said thank you etc. Then apologized. Oh, there WAS a manager there, he had to use a key a few times...so trust me. Never in a million years did I think it would last for as long as it did...never. I thought FOR SURE she was joking when she said it, even the cashier chuckled...I mean come on. But no, she was seriously serious. Then the process of what she truly needed and what she didn't. She would have the bagger look through the groceries with her, because the poor kid he bagged everything as it came down the belt. Then, she would say ....oh take that off. Then three other things then she would say..you know I need that put that back on. Total trainwreck.

I think at one point, I just couldn't move. I was so shocked...and then I couldn't leave just to see what the heck was going to happen. I should have taken my groceries off the belt and moved. But my head kept telling me this will be over in a minute...yeah.

As for the disability..maybe, maybe not...I don't know. The worst part is that when she got the groceries down to 69. and some change she handed the cashier a HUNDRED DOLLAR bill. I wanted to scream as loud as I could that she was a MORON of the highest degree. If she hadn't noticed the store was busy and the poor cashier said a lot of early Thanksgiving shoppers starting today. I think, in the end, I just was standing there wondering what in the world she was ACTUALLY taking home with her.

What a mess...

Either she wasn't quite all there, or maybe it was a scam to get someone to pay for her for her groceries. I can't imagine anyone with that disablity going shopping without a specific list so that this wouldn't happen.

I am leaning towards scam....

How frustrating! I got behind a man the other night. I thought he was almost done, everything was bagged, it looked good. After waiting about five minutes, I finally asked if there was a problem. He was waiting for other people in his group to finish shopping! Why oh why wouldn't you wait for them before you started bagging, or at least pay your share? And what slayed me was the cashier did not turn on her light or even warn me. She was nice when she told me what was going on, but it would have been nice to have some warning.

It could be possible this woman had a disability. Learning disabilities in particular are very hard to spot. I worked with a girl who had a real problem with time. If our lead told her to be back from her break at 10 after, she had no idea what it meant, but she was embarassed to say. She would always come back early to be safe. I started translating for her what it meant. I had a customer at Hy Vee that I used to have to count out his money for because he did not know how to do money. You never know. I hope it was a case of a disability and not just sheer stupidity.
