Right now on the first page of the budget board are two threads, one right under the other, called "Fit flops?" and "Fit flops". I'm sure between the two threads we can learn everything we need to know about fit flops!

Just step away from the Aldi's threads if they bother you...

I cannot remember the last time (if ever) the search feature worked on this board. I haven't tried it in a while because it always tanked in the past

For awhile there wasn't even a link! They must have just put it back up. Good to know there is a search again

I have used it often in the past, and just tried it now. It worked fine for me.

I've never had an issue with the search engine other than the link being gone now and again. It's never been gone longer than a day for me though.

My faves are the duplicate posts when there is clearly a thread about the subject on the 1st (or worst case 2nd) page.

Happens all the time with celebrity deaths. Someone comes along mid-late afternoon and posts an "OMG XXXXX died" thread when we've been discussing it since 8 am EST and there is a 6 page thread on page 1.

I don't really care but I laugh every time I see it happen. It is inevitable.

If this is your biggest problem in life you live a charmed one! Seriously, just skip the posts or answer the questions. I know for myself it's easier to start a new post rather than hope the search is working.

It really doesn't bother me. If it's been awhile, people might want more, updated info about their topics. For istance, any new and exciting products Aldi's might carry.

My only issue is when I start a thread, and then a while later, a more "popular" poster starts a thread about the same thing, and suddenly my thread becomes a ghost town. It's like high school all over again. Has happened to me three times this year so far.

The search does work now but for many, MANY years did not. I think a lot of us just assumed it was still not operational.

There are other boards on the DIS where I really pity the poor soul who asked a question that comes up frequently. A lot of posters feel required to open the thread and chastise the OP instead of just skipping it since it annoys them. I just don't get that. Either answer the question kindly or ignore the question.

Maybe they already did and didn't get enough information or maybe they were looking for more fresh opinions? Now I agree that similar posts in the same day are a little annoying, but honestly if people didn't repeat topics, then there would barely be a board. The DISboards would turn into a board with a bunch of stickies.

i agree. we need less clutter to make room for more important threads like this one.
