We were at OKW this past week, the main pool was still closed, so the remaining 3 pools were very crowded. I noticed that people still leave their used pool towels on the chairs when they leave!! You can tell they are leaving the pool, they pickup all their stuff, EXCEPT, the used towels!!! Is it too much to take the towels and put them in the towel return? I watched as people turned around and left the pool area because they could not find a place to sit!! I think this is so inconsiderate!!
Just had to vent!!

I don't blame you for venting. How inconsiderate of these people to not pick up after themselves. Bet they don't leave towels all over their chairs in their houses!

L-A-Z-Y !!! I guess people feel that since they are on "vacation" they don't need to be considerate of others. I can honestly say we have never left our used pool towels on the chairs when we leave because I feel the same way you do about it. :)

It's not just a "vacation" thing. I see this attitude of "That's why there are... janitors, employees, trash collectors, etc" a lot in our society. Personal responsibility is just high on a lot of people's lists.

I second all those Immotions!!! :sad2:
Maybe they should start making you return all the towels you take, otherwise you can't leave the pool area. Yeah Right!!!

I would say that this is the same as not putting your grocery cart into the racks in the parking lot? (Same except for one is many a health issue and the other is a safety and car protection issue.) Just plain lazy.

But when someone doesn't take their grocery cart in the rack at least they leave their parking spot empty for someone else to park in. Maybe if people just threw the towels on the ground instead of leaving them on the chair at least you would know the chair wasn't taken.

I agree with all of your comments. Often I sit pool side watching and wondering who the guests and who the owners are. It seems to me to be a lack of respect and you see that in many different areas. Being true to my nature, I think what these "little" issues end up costing and effecting the bottom line, our fees. OH WELL!

They could have left the towels to save for later, actually a far worse practice in my book. IMO, those chairs are fair game within just a few minutes, even if they leave a small personal item such as a hat or shoe. People who save chairs should be banned from the resort forever.

And should be placed in the stocks by the Hall of Presidents for us all to publicly mock and throw pool toys at.;)

HBC

PS: I agree that saving chairs is a bad thing to do and would of course never waste my pool toys on such low lifes as chair hoggers.

Non-returning of towels? Lazy, inconsiderate people! Mention of shopping carts being left in parking lot, the same lazy people. I think evil thoughts aboout *$#@&**#@** who leave their carts in handicapped spots.

I got the worst roasting I have ever received on these forums for stating the same thing, in fact I was threatened with bodily harm for even thinking such a thing.

It will be interesting to see what responses you get. Of course I think I posted it on the Resorts board and those folks over there are not as level headed as everyone around here. :)

Bring it on, got my super soaker ready. The one's who need bodily harm are the ones saving chairs indefinitely. I don't have any problems with saving for 15 or 20 minutes while someone is getting ready. It's the low life's that go out at 7-9 and expect to come to the pool between 11 & 3 or similar, that I have NO use for.

I agree with everyone here!!

AND.....the most repulsive act of being inconsiderate was in May @ the BC, when I witnessed 2 families leaving SAB (unfortunately not near where I was sitting), leaving their paper products litter..i.e. cups, containers from chicken fingers, fries etc, on, by and under the lounge chairs. Oh..yea..towels too!!

YUCK! Couldn't beleive it!! And...they are probably the ones who complain most about increased mtc fees and articles broken in their units..Amazing what children are learning these days!!

Is this somthing that could be brought up to DVC managment. I would like to see a key card check in for towels and for non return a 3-5 dollar charge per towel. They could still open the towel lockers at 5 for non check in, because after 5 it is not as bad. It is a problem at HHI. there will be no chairs open but only 3 families at or in the pool. And this is in Sep and Oct.

I know people would say, my kids took and misplaced the towels or folks might swipe someone elses towel, but I don't care, People need to watch their stuff better and look after our "home" better.

True, but a lot of times, the cart is left in the middle of the spot, giving the next person either the option to stop their car (holding up traffic), get out and move it to park there, or find another spot ... Not to mention, if the wind blows, it bangs the cart into other people's cars, causing dents and scratches!!!

Does anyone else think it is just gross to have to touch someone else's used towels???

What gets me is when a family saves a chair for every member and they're never all in them at the same time! We typically get 2 chairs knowing that our DD will be in the pool the majority of the time. If she does get out, she can sit on the end of one of our chairs or on the ground.

Many resorts, I've been to including nice hotels, require you to sign out towels and charge you a hefty fee if you don't account for them. IMO, the extra aggravation of that and doing an inventory are well worth it.

I guess Im a horrible person because I dont count just a towel as saving a chair, and if there is a lack of chairs, am not unwilling to make a lonely towel covered chair mine.
