Vent: they need to make up their minds!

I know it's a silly first world problem but I'm going to throttle my kids. They keep changing their minds on where we should stay during our October trip. We've gone from the BWV to the THV to AKV and now back to the THV. Half the trip is a non negotiable stay at SSR in a 2 bedroom but the other is up for grabs. They've got just over 60 days to make up their minds. They're driving me batty. Don't they know the research that's gone into planning thus far.

Exactly! If they can't decide in 2 days, you get to decide! That'll teach 'em.

Gather them up...point out all the pros at each place (I wouldn't worry with the cons). Ask for an immediate vote and tell them it's final. Maybe have them write down which one and put it in a jar...give them a deadline (like 15 minutes). Good luck! It is a fun problem to have.

By the way, my vote would be 1/2 the stay at AKV and the other half at BWV...eliminating SSR/THV all together. That's just me.

The trip is my middle DD's bat mitzvah gift. She's forgoing the big traditional party and gets to choose where we stay for half of the trip. She also gets to bring her BFF.

If you're talking about THV for THIS October, there's a good chance the 11 month window has already decided for you. Everything I've ever read is that w/o the 11 month booking advantage, THV is next to impossible to book. I'm sure people get lucky and I wish it to you but a lot of time has passed already on that 11 month window.

I have the THV booked for all 10 nights already. I'm going to make someone very happy in 63 days when I change.

I would not think about it again till 2 days out of the 7 month window. At that time I would give them 24 hours then tell them you are drawing out of a hat if they cannot decide.

Good idea Denise. I like the hat idea. Guess I'll call MS first though as I'll need to make sure I can get the resort chosen from the hat. Then I'll rig the drawing.


I did order the new DVC DVD. I'll let them watch it a few days before.

If it helps any, this is the cheapest you're ever going to be able to get that THV. The new points charts are up and reports are that THV point costs are going up in 2013, and studio and 1 bedrooms going down accordingly ... might as well snag the savings while you can ...

taaran, thank you for the head's up. I just checked and the THV went up 6 points a night for our time in October for 2013. I'm confused though, how can they increase the points? I thought they could only charge x amount of points total and were only allowed to redistribute?

I LOVE the hat idea but I also heard you say that part of the trip is for your middle childs Bat Mitzvah and she chose Disney over a traditional party. If this is the case than IMHO I think her vote should count the most.

That's my thinking too but she's got 61 days. I'm good with any of the resorts really.
