Vent on high school

Wow, you were and are lucky. I've never heard anyone say that before. High school is more often thought to be survivable and sometimes it is even enjoyable, but "remembering fondly"? I'm in awe.

High school was hard for me, too.....the advice a dear family friend and a very good priest (there are some!) gave to me WAAAAYYY back then was that the "best revenge on those 'mean' teachers and kids is success.....become somebody, be good at what you do and prove them all wrong!"

It worked. The nun who taught my English class freshman year told me I would never amount to anything, even a truck driver..........I am now a professor of neuroscience and have a successful career, a successful marriage and 4 terrific kids (including a senior in college and a senior in high school!).

Good luck....keep your chin up, and remember YOU ARE SOMEBODY not a nobody!

Thanks. It's mainly just the snob in my homeroom this year. She's like a Venus flytrap. She acts all nice, luering you in, and then snares the trap.

Well, you know how she operates, so keep your guard up and don't get lured.
