Velveeta Cheese!

Pimento Cheese

One block of Velveeta
One 16 oz jar of Helman's Mayo
One jar of Pimentos

Cube and melt the velveeta on the stove (not in the microwave!! Just put it on medium low and be patient!). Keep stirring until it is completely melted and lump free. Put in the mayo, stir, stir, stir until it is completely mixed. This takes a little work, you will think it is not going to mix, then boom, it's all together. Then stir in the pimentos. Serve it warm on bread.

This stuff will last for a long time if you keep it tightly covered and refrigerated. My family loves this stuff.

I make broccolli and rice casserole with it too. My recipe is a little different, and topped with shredded cheddar.

My favorite dip is 1/2 a block of velveeta cubed, mixed wiht a can of chili and microwave. Or like everyone else, I like to mix it with rotel and melt as well.

I have a Velveeta cookbook. It is called (no lie!)
Velveeta: For People Who Eat Food.
:rotfl:
That sounds interesting.....where did you find a cookbook like that?

Thank you to KarenAylwood and Dmslush for the recipes! YUM!! :sunny:

OK, now I have to go buy some Velveeta! :teeth: It's been years since I've bought any. :confused3

....and, by rights, we should make you come back here and report what you think after you give it try....but, we'll let you slide....this time! :teeth:

OK, so I tried it with salsa to test it out. I don't know how I survived all these years without the Velveeta.

So there you have it.....another food addiction pushed by the happy souls on the DIS boards! :rotfl2: Glad you enjoyed it! :goodvibes

I have never personally purchased velveeta. It never made its way into a house I lived in until DH moved in and had to make chili con queso with it. I've been :rotfl: at the responses on here and had to explain it's a velveeta thing.

that said, he makes a mean queso dip with it...going to try it with the Rotel now.

I didn't even know they still made that stuff!! Its in the same league as spam or that "cheese" in a can..to me! BLECH!

I was watching Paula Dean yesterday and she made a broccoli cassarole and put in "a soft cheese product". It was obviously a huge chunk of Velveeta. We now have the approval of Paula Dean to enjoy our Velveeta!

The ONLY thing I use Velveeta for is an Amish recipe I have called, Yum-A-Setta

Do the Amish use Velveeta, I am not sure but the recipe calls for it and the book was bought in Amish Country!! :rotfl2:
