Just wanted to see what everyone preferred. I tried on a long one and a short one, but I really can't decide which one I like better. I'm thinking shorter, the longer one seemed like a cape coming out of my head haha. :rotfl:

So, which did you prefer.. and why?

Not married yet, but I am planning on a short one. I am going to have my hair in a high bun on top of my head and have the veil coming out from under it on the bottom. I do not want the whole veil covering my face thing. I will also be having a color on the back of my dress so I am planning on taking the veil off after the ceremony so you can really see the back of my dress.

yea i'm not doing the covering the face thing either. that seems too funeralish to me. mine is all white with light green/peridot for the corset part of the back, so I'm thinking short too haha.

Just something simple from David's Bridal, its in my Planning Journal.. on the last page I believe? It's going to be just me and DF so I didn't see the point in getting an expensive dress, but I do love it :lovestruc

Very beautiful dress - yes, I do remember seeing that in your PJ. I still vote for the shorter veil.

I love your dress choice. Personally, I would go with a veil similar in length to what the model in the photo is wearing. I think it suits the dress. I don't think for that dress a long veil would work. JMO.

You have to see what the veil looks like with the dress. I would have never dreamed of the 80+ inch veil I had, but it worked with the dress.

i wore 2 veils, i wore a birdcage and a cathedral length. the thing i liked about the long veil was that in many pictures, it looks like a thin wispy beautiful line that goes from the back of your head and i just love how it looks, especially if you don't have a train on your dress and want one. i'd vote for a long veil, but that's me!

Definitely a lot of great advice haha. I do like the idea of going with what th model has, I think it was shorter? Now I'll have to double check. However, I do like how in certain pictures, the longer veil is all flowey in the wind... oh decisions, decisions haha

ok so here is the model pic:

but she's not wearing a veil!

I'm still voting for shorter, but jeez.. I figured the model could be of some help.

For me it is neither. Mine is an elbow length veil so it's in between the short and the long. I got it at David's bridal and it has crystals that line the bottom. I choose this one for two reasons. My dress like yours comes under my shoulderblades a bit in back and I didn't mind that being covered up for the ceremony as well as I have longer hair (to the middle of my back) and I did not want it hanging out of the bottom of my veil! On the other hand the floor lenght didn't look right since my dress has a train on it.

I agree with one of the earlier posters, you have to decide what looks best with your dress. I tried on about 5-6 before I found the right one.
