Ok I need some help. I found a veil I really liked from David's Bridal. I called to get the price of it and she said it was 450 dollars. There is no way I am going to spend that much for a veil. Where did some of you guys buy your veils (if you bought them online)? I need to get mine soon because Anna W. is doing my trail MO in 20 some odd days! Help!

My veil/headband cost $350 dollars....so I don't have any good advice about good deals! :lmao: But, I think you should take your time to find the right veil that you just can't live without, and in the mean time use something else for your trial. If you take some tulle from the fabric store and cut it to the right length, you may get a good idea of how you want things to look until you find the perfect veil for you. Good luck! :)

I wish I could help. Try ebay? What style veil do you want? There are some designers with web sites that might be less expensive. Try doing a google search, maybe.

It's probably not nice for me to talk about what I spent on stuff, but my veil was over 400 bucks, too, and my headpiece was almost 200, so I am as "bad" as moonpie... I'm sure my DF just wants to wrap this up before I buy anything else. And I have a lot of nerve offering advice on this topic.

I remember how "simple" I was going to keep things when I first got engaged. My original 2 hundred dollar wedding dress morphed into a 3 thousand dollar dress. My veil cost twice as much as that first dress.

Me: "Just a simple, intimate ceremony, honey. That's all I want. Oh. But did I mention my designer gown, custom designed freshwater pearl and Swarovski crystal headpiece, and imported Belgian princess lace veil?"

Let's see: dress, shoes, headpiece, veil, earrings...uhm...WOW! The stuff I will have on for my wedding will probably be more than the Kelly Blue Book value of my car !

:lmao: Someone help me! I think I've gone quite mad!

I too absolutely fell in love with a very expensive item at David's Bridal (except in my case, it was a tiara/headpiece). Sooooo, I immediately came home and did a search on Ebay. Instead of buying a $250.00 tiara from David's, I bought a $70.00 tiara off of Ebay and it is EXACTLY the same!! Maybe you'll have some luck on Ebay?? Try it! You never know! :)

Have you tried local bridal shops? I purchased my dress and veil from a small local shop. I got a fabulous dress and my veil was only $65. Before I purchased my dress I went to several other small shops and their veils were all under $100. I do know people who have made their veils. That may be an option if you are crafty. :)

Have you tried net bride I am sure they do veils and seem very reasonable in price too

good luck :)

The tiara I choose was simple and inexpensive. I initially wasn't even going to wear a veil and then decided at the last minute to use one. I didn't want anything over powering (too layering or too long) and didn't want to pay more than I did for the tiara so I purchased a champagne duster and used it as my veil.

I think I got the tiara at Jo Ann Fabrics for like $30 and the duster veil at David's Bridal for $25.....who would have known???

I bought mine from Davids for $80ish. Its plain, but closer to the wedding we're going to embellish it ourselves, so it will go with the dress.

Ebay, that's where I bought mine. I'm having a trial with Anna W. in 6 days and my veil hasn't come in yet. You really don't need it unless you don't think you can envision what the veil looks like.

I thought David's bridal was supposed to have deals on bridal items...but it seems that the veils and tiaras are just as expensive there as they are in high end bridal shops. :confused3 .....just a thought. :teeth:

I agree . . . I'm not a David's fan but I couldn't find shoes anywhere, not even the bridal boutique where I got my gown, so I ended up at David's with MIL and they are gorgeous shoes but they were about $70. That isn't bad for nice shoes, it's what I'd pay at 9West or at a department store, but it's more than I thought I'd have to pay at David's!

Steph11787 - Good luck on finding the perfect veil and try not to stress too much, like sajetto said, you probably won't need the veil for the trial.

i bought my veil on amazon.com for like $30-40, it was elbow length & beautiful, i wore it the whole day.

I found a beaded veil at the gown shop that I loved, but I didn't want to pay $200. It turned out it didn't look good with my gown. I ended up making mine from 7$ of tulle from a fabric store and a 30-cent comb. I like the oval style, so that is what I made, oval 2-tier, elbow length. It was perfect!
If you aren't crafty, there are plenty of patterns, maybe someone who is crafty can help you with it.

I searched on eBay last night and found one. I got it for $30.80 WITH shipping!! I am excited and I hope it is as great as it sounds. Hopefully I will have it soon. It is a 2T White Elbow length with Rinestones. I guess we will see how great it is when it gets here. Here are some pictures:

I used to work at David's Bridal as a bridal consultant. Although I did recently purchase my gown there (only because it was a sample sale), I don't usually recommend them for veils or headpieces. I worked at several bridal shows in the Atlanta area with vendors that carried "similar" pieces, but at a fraction of the cost. If you're still looking, I'm sure I could dig up some information and try to get either phone numbers or web sites. Good luck with your search!

Hooray for EBAY!! I'm glad you found something! I love it...I think it looks fantastic!! :thumbsup2

Good job on the veil search! I am glad you found something you love and a price you felt was fair. It's a good feeling. Good old ebay ! I'm sure the veil will be perfect-- in the pictures it looks lovely.

You will be so excited when you get it in the mail ! :goodvibes

Steph: Are you going to wear the blusher? I think it looks so awesome. I am not wearing a blusher, as it is my second wedding (and I just am only willing to push the envelope just so far :teeth: I already maxed out the etiquette protocol with the ivory lace gown  ) but I do love the look of a bride coming down the aisle with the blusher. So very pretty.

Congrats again!

Steph, I bought them same veil from eBay for my wedding and it's gorgeous! It matched perfectly with my dress and no one know that I got it for $25!
