My dd and I are looking forward to our meal here especially the dessert, but I noticed that they serve mostly meat and we are vegetarians. Has anyone ordered a vegetarian entree for dinner? I know that most restaurants will help out with special requests.
Only 18 days to go! :cheer2:

I have read lots of post about different veggie options at 'Ohana! Some have reported a tofu and veggie grilled skewers, a veggie lo-mein dish, or a vegetable stir-fry. Do a search for "vegetarian Ohana" and you will get lots of info!

Thanks for your reply KingdomHeartsfan. I didn't think of doing a search.
By the way we are "Kingdomhearts" fans too. :thumbsup2

I just came to this forum to ask the exact same question! Did the search work? I'm about to do one myself.

I tried to search for vegetarian Ohana options and didn't find anything specific. I will probably call the restaurant directly.

I had the tofu skewers..they were pretty good..there are a lot of vegetables served too...salad, potatoes, mixed vegetables...and of course the delicious dessert..you won't be hungry at all..Enjoy!!

The salad and the desert were worth it for me!! I had 3 helpings of salad and 2 deserts. It was just awesome, I went back again before we left!

I like O'Hanas and I don't eat meat. They have shrimp which were good, if you eat shrimp. There is plenty of other stuff. Salad, potatoes, veggies, chips to dip and the dessert is great. We're going again this year. You can ask for the vegetarian dish, but I never did. Have fun!

My family went to Ohana's in April, and none of us are big meat eaters (we all had 1-2 small pieces of meat, at most). What really made the meal great for us was the atmosphere and all the side dishes! The salad was really yummy, and there were stir-fry veggies and incredible potatoes! Our servers looked amused as we ordered seconds on these items, but really didn't want much of the meat. And the dessert was to die for -- none of us liked bread pudding until that night -- the one at Ohana's is something really special. In fact, it was our favorite dessert at WDW! (and yes, we ordered more and more!) We didn't know about the veggie skewers or we probably would have asked for them! Try it -- you'll probably have a great time!

I'm going to call Disney Dining later to get the phone number. I'll call a few days prior to our seating to make a vegetarian request.

emememem - Do you know where they cooked the tofu skewers? I'm hoping it wasn't on the meat grill. I'd bet it wasn't but I'd just want to make sure. Some places just don't know. The tofu skewers sound good, though!

DVCCarrie - What made the salad so good? What kind of dressing is it?

Does anyone know if the potatoes are vegetarian?

Did the "Ohana vegetarian" search, and still had some questions so I thought I'd revive this and add to it.

For the veggie skewers/tofu skewers/veggie stirfry/veggie lo mein, should I call a few days ahead to request it? Or is it something they always have?

Same question about mac n cheese for the kids--it looks like plenty of food, but you never know with kids what they'll eat from day to day.

Are the fried wontons vegetarian; ie, are they just wontons or is there a little pocket of pork in the middle? I've seen both.

Are the scalloped potatoes vegetarian or do they throw a little bacon or ham in there just to mess with me?

Thanks for all your help!

I can only offer some help with these two questions...

The fried wontons are just wontons, no meat.

The potatos have
Russet potatoes, heavy cream, cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, thinly sliced sweet onions, kosher salt, black pepper.

If you go to this sitehttp://allearsnet.com/
you can get the menus and select recipies, and there are FAQ about special dietary needs. Hope this helps!

Thanks stitch626_in_time! I've seen the menus at allearsnet (well, seen may be an understatement--I've printed out most of them to help us decide where to eat  ), but didn't know they had some of the recipes. Those are key for us veg-heads--for example, many soups sound vegetarian, but if they're made with chicken broth it's a no-go for me. Now I have something to do this afternoon (besides clean my house and interact with my children)--read all the recipes to determine what I can eat!

Wondering if you need to call ahead of time to request the vegetarian option or just tell your server when you're seated... My sister will eat the shrimp and everything else but the meat and potatoes, but I'm sure she'd LOVE some tofu skewers as well.

The CM I talked with from dining on the phone said not to worry about calling. But I don't really trust that...I'm going to call a few days prior just to make sure.
