What's wrong with gelatin?
Gisele, really? A thread about vegetarian food and you wonder what's wrong with gelatin?
I will admit though, I do have gelatin, but only in the form of my Flintstone vitamin every morning. I know I can find other vitamins that doesn't have it in there, but after an allergic reaction when trying to switch one time, I don't stray away from the Flintstones w/ Iron vitamins.
You know those are formulated for children, right? It's not formulated for an adult; not sure you're getting much of use from them. I'm quite sure there are plenty of vitamins out there formulated for adults that would suit you better. Have you seen a nutritionist or a naturopath to try to find a terrific vitamin that would work better for your adult needs?
For the short time when I've ever been anemic (my iron has traditionally been better than any of my meat-eating friends' levels) I used liquid Floradix for iron, which is an incredibly bio-available source. On the spendy side but it worked!
