Vegetarian Dining Review for 9/10/09-9/17/09 with Pictures!

Wow! I never knew that about marshmallows! I knew about gelatin, but not innocent marshmallows! LOL Thanks for the heads up. :thumbsup2

one more (just to be helpful).

Here are a few comprehensive informational links about gelatin

they debunk a few myths that I believed for a long time as well (IE: that gelatin is made from hooves when it is really made from skin, fat, and connector tissue).

I too am a vegetarian with a husband and boys who are not. We'll be travelling to WDW in December, so I was so, so happy to read your report and can't wait to read more!

How did you find out you could ask for vegetarian options from the chef at Ohana? I'm nervous that so many restaurants don't seem to offer many options.

Anything else you want to suggest for me is greatly appreciated!

What is the cost of Chef Mickey's if you don't use it for as a dining plan credit? We are going to be staying at CR, so we will probably go there with the kids for breakfast.

Best

Kate

Here are menus with prices (mostly up to date).

I'm vegetarian and so are both DDs. We found plenty to eat. At most TS restaurants, they can accommodate tastes, even with just one veg option. Just ask when in doubt. I've had two great vegetarian meals at Le Cellier, which is a steakhouse!

At CS places, there are veggie burgers at a number of places (and I do like a good veggie burger), but don't overlook the "different" CS places, like Sunshine Seasons in The Land, the CS place in Morrocco, and Columbia Harbour House in MK (Lighthouse Sandwich and vegetarian chili).

From your question about Chef Mickey's, I wasn't sure if you knew about making ADRs. If you want to eat at Chef Mickey's, make sure to look into ADRs (advanced dining reservations). I don't know when you are going, but if you want to eat at a TS restaurant, try to get an ADR (can be done online).

Have a great trip!

Thanks for all the great information in this thread
I am vegetarian and my husband is a big meet eater so the challenge is always to find somewhere that we both enjoy rather than one of us compromising ;)
Buffets always seem to be a great option as you get great variety
We are really looking forward to our trip over from England in March 2010 and find All Ears a fantastic source for checking out menus in advance :cool1:

Thanks for the reviews. I'm looking forward to trying Sanaa the next time we're at WDW! Hopefully soon...

great reviews! the vego options at Ohana look so good!

As I've read other reviews on this board, I've seen a lot of repeats as to what Chef TJ gives..... they all look wonderful..... I felt like I was a VIP from the way he treated me.......
