Vegas Vacation suggestions...

In regards to buffets, our 2 favourite were the buffet in Paris and the international buffet at the Rio. There's a free shuttle from Paris to the Rio a couple times a day. Rio was ENORMOUS and very good quality.

The Las Vegas Hilton isn't on the strip, I don't think. There is the Flamingo Hilton that is right there on the strip. I believe the Hilton Vacation Club is directly behind the Flamingo. We did stay at the HVC a couple of times, with a friend of mine. They have a time share condo. It's really nice.

We went on a river rafting tour...it sounds scarry, but it isn't. It goes through an area of the river that is very very mild. This is not a white water rafting tour where you would go through strong currents. There were about 20 people on this large river raft, and a tour guide. It was a 4-hour trip, and it starts right there close to the base of the Hoover Dam. You can literally look up and see the dam, and it is huge. I can't remember the name of the tour, but it was pretty much an all-day event, by the time you go on the bus, to another location where you get checked-in, and get your lunch, and then go on another bus to the launch site, etc. It was really a great tour. If I can find the name of it, I'll PM it to you.

I think Aladdin has the best buffet of any place on the strip. It's not cheap, but it's reallllllly good! We also like going through the M&M store. Walking through the mall at Ceasar's Palace is fun too, and the erupting volcano at the Mirage.

I vacation and/or go for business to Las Vegas often; I've been 5 times this year. The cirque shows are like the food reviews here on the dis; everyone has a different opinion. Personally, Ka is my favorite. It is the only show that has a story; it's also more masculine. I've seen a lot of non-cirque shows there also but Ka is still my favorite, followed by Le Reve at the Wynn.

I never rent a car. I always use the taxis and have never experienced a problem. If I'm coming into the airport at a peak time, I will reserve a towncar service to avoid the long cab lines at the airport. The Deuce is fine as long as you have comfortable shoes to walk down to the street to catch it; when I'm in heels or have a deadline, a cab is so much more convenient.

Food choices in Las Vegas are amazing. I do not eat buffets so can't help you there. My favorite reasonably priced restaurant is Mesa Grill at Caesars.

When I saw your thread I worried you were going soon. Right now the airport is closed due to SNOW!!!! :lmao: It is only 3 1/2 inches!! I know, they are not used to snow and are not prepared for snow, but around here that is like no snow!!

Ok, on a serious side. Things are MUCH farther then they look! I got a 24hr bus ticket one day after I had walked ALL the way to one end of the strip and realized I didn't want to walk ALL the way back. I rode in the top front seat of a double decker and took a bunch of pics on the way back! It was alot of fun. I really like the M&M and the Coke store.

WOW! Some really great suggestion! I can't wait to go some of these sites to check everything out.

Thanks so much!!!
