Vegan/Vegetarian Restaurant/Dining Help Thread

Has anyone had the regular veggie burger at Planet Hollywood? I'm wondering if it's as good as the one at the PH in Niagara Falls. I had a horrible suspicion that thing had meat in it because I've never had a veggie burger taste so good. (Not intended as an endorsement of meat flavouring, just most of the veggie burgers I've had tasted like either a) nothing, b) pepper or c) plastic).

Thanks for the link VeganCupcake! Any word on whether he does Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner or some combination of the three?

Glad we have confirmation. I was so dumbfounded after standing at the podium and finding out he is was no longer at O'hana. It worked out well though, I'm still thinking about my dinner at Jiko........oh so good!

I wish I knew- my "theory" is, even if he's not there when/if I go for dinner , I have a feeling that they will be able to accommodate a vegan diet better than they were able to before, as Chef TJ knows that we would all be stalking.... I mean following him, and the kitchen will probably be well stocked with tofu! I just really want to watch my husband deal with the flirting from the stepsisters! hehe! Straight up- I love it when he is put in awkward/funny situations, b/c he tortures me with his shinanigans on a daily basis.

I love all the vegan/veggie talk going on here, but just a reminder to try and keep at least SOMETHING you say in your posts about dining at Disney Parks....otherwise the thread could get shut down for irrelevancy and that would be a HUGE bummer :(

I'm interested in hearing about some firsthand experiences with Chef TJ at 1900. If anybody hears anything post it!!

I posted on the main restaurant page about a vegan meal at Le Cellier, but I got the recommendation to try the salmon. lol!!

Anyway, has anyone on here had a vegan meal at Le Cellier? I've read most of the vegan/veggie dining reviews, but I don't specifically remember seeing that restaurant in any of the reviews.

Thanks!

I keep hearing good things about Flying Fish, but have any fellow vegetarians been there recently?

We ate there in the summer of 2008 and had a wonderful meal. THe service is outstanding.

I had Fresh Mozzarella di Bufala, "Ugli Ripe" Beefsteak and Tiny Florida Grape Tomatoes and a fantastic pasta dish that seems to be gone from the menu. :sad1:

My son had a vegetarian tomato bisque that he raved about. He also had the potato wrapped salmon (we eat some non-shellfish), made vegetarian at his request. We knew the sauce had veal stock and asked for a vegetarian sauce to be substituted. The chef came out and was very happy to accommodate and actually gave him a choice of sauces. I think he also had a side of sauteed mushrooms that he liked very much.

Hey Everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts as to whether Via Napoli would be/is vegan friendly?

I know it is early in the game, but I figured I'd throw the question out there.

I just switched our reservations from O'hana's to 1900 Park Fare for dinner so I am keeping my fingers crossed he is there for dinner. We were able to get just about the same time frame too. I haven't even looked at these boards in a little over a month since it's been such a busy summer so far and I am very glad I decided to take a peak today!!! Thank you all so much for the information. Luckily we had a Wednesday reservation too for O'hanas so this worked out good.

Does anyone know if you can get a veggie burger at Pecos Bill's or a tofu dog at Caseys?

Random Q, but figured this would be the thread to ask - anyone know how easy it is to get dairy items (like mounds of cheese) removed from CS meals? I'm lactose-intolerant, which basically means that I'll get sick if I can't do that, and I hate giving up my favorite foods/salads/etc because they don't/won't make changes there like they do around where I'm from!

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can get a vegetarian burger at Pecos Bill's. I don't think there is a vegetarian hot dog at Casey's, though, but I haven't asked.

Usually, you can get cheese left off foods at the CS places. Just ask! Tell them you have an allergy/special diet and they will generally help you. If you get someone who is not helpful, ask if you can speak to a manager or chef, and they'll usually send someone out. There is also a book with all the recipe ingredients that they can bring out for you, in case "hidden" dairy is a problem for you.

Sooooo I need everyone's help. I have a Rainforest Cafe gift card coming for our trip (one of those shop & earn points websites) and I made a res for the one at animal kingdom. Anyone have any feedback as for what I may be in store for? I don't care if they are only going to have a salad for me, I mean I'm vegan, I should be expected to eat my vegetables :rotfl:buttt, if thats all I'm going to be able to eat then I know I need to have a little something an hour or so before our meal. Thankssss :-)

You should be able to get a veggie burger at any location in WDW that offers regular meat burgers, even if it doesn't show the veggie burger on the menu. Just ask.

Check out this review by v_gan: LINK, scroll down to post #5.

You may want to look at all her reviews; she is a wealth of information on vegan dining at WDW.

Anyone have any reviews of Ohana since Chef TJ left. Is it still a good option for vegans/vegetarians?
Also, has anyone been to 1900 Park Fare since Chef TJ is now there?
