We are traveling with some friends this May and they are devout Vegans. I am wondering what Disney restaurants supply good Vegan food. I know most restaurants will work with the guests but I am looking for restaurants that are top notch for Vegan food at Disney World. Since I eat meat, I would not be a good judge.

Thanks for your input.

Hi! My mom has a dairy allergy so generally we look for items that are 'vegan' allows us to make sure there is not any milk in the food (although she does eat meat and eggs, so not the same as your friends). I found the 'gluten free dairy free' website very helpful as Disney now has separate allergy friendly menus. Even tho your friends don't have an 'allergy', it still may be helpful, especial bc its pretty obvious what doesn't have meat in it, but eggs and dairy are a little more tricky.

Good luck!

When we traveled a few years ago with a vegan we had very good experiences at 'Ohana and Boma.

Hey! Personally I had wonderful experiences at Sanaa, Tusker House and Be Our Guest.

I really recommend the Vegan Disney World site which lists options and reviews for all the parks and Disney Springs.

I hear very good things about Trails End as well.

Trails End. We have not been in a couple years, so it is worth double checking, but Chef TJ used to be head chef here, and he is well known for accommodating vegetarian and vegan diners. Google him. Has anyone eaten at TE recently who can attest? My ODD has egg, dairy, and a bunch of meat allergies. He made her a vegan dessert that was unbelievable. A tower of treats in a mason jar: fruit, cupcake, cookies, all drizzled in chocolate sauce. It was about a foot and a half tall and silenced the whole restaurant as he carried it out. If he isn't at TE anymore, it is worth seeing if you can find out where he is. He was at Ohanas before TE. (That would have been about 2013.)

I'm vegan and my daughter is vegetarian and am headed to Disney world next weekend. I have reservations for 1900 park fare, beaches and cream, skippers, teppan edo, 'Ohana and tusker house. I am quite sure I will manage very well at all these places. I read menus and researched my best options while also taking into account that not everyone in my party is vegan/vegetarian. All these restaurants have options to satisfy us all.

Last time we were in Disney in May of 2015 I found plenty of vegan food and never went hungry. Favourite snacks are dole whips and popcorn. I also had a fabulous meal at hoop de doo prepared by chef TJ since the food at hoop de doo comes out of trails end kitchen. I also had vegan meals at 50's prime time, sci-fi, t-Rex and plenty of counter service options especially in Epcot.

I am wondering what Disney restaurants supply good Vegan food.

1) A real subjective evaluation.
2) All TS eateries can fix something vegan.
. . . let the podium host/hostess (aka: SEATER) know you have an issue when you check-in for the ADR
. . . the SERVER will have the chef come to the table to discuss options **
3) But, the quality and taste depends greatly upon the chef.
4) MANY people claim Chef "TJ", now at Fort Wilderness Trails End is the best at ad hoc special meals.
5) I admit to having a bias, but I have to agree.

** QS (Fast Food) eateries do not have chefs available, and have a very limited amount of options for vegetarians, and only a few can do vegan.

Hi! We are vegans and vegetarians (I'm vegan) and have eaten at WDW several times over the past few years.

Our favorite place is Boma at AKL because it's an African buffet with a LOT of interesting vegan options. The chef will walk you through the line, and show you what is vegan, and they are knowledgeable about things like gelatin in desserts. There aren't a lot of vegan desserts, but they will bring you vegan ice cream or sorbert with cookies and berries. Sanaa is amazing as well.

AK: Tusker House is called "Boma Light." There's also a food cart with falafels and steamed edamame pods in AK. There are also fresh fruit carts, frozen pineapple skewers, real fruit popsicles, and large pickles

Ep: Tangierine Cafe and Sunshine Seasons (quick service), Via Napoli can do delicious cheeseless pizzas, kaki gori shaved ice in Japan. Don't try eating in France.

HS: not much (Hollywood and Vine has some ops, as does Mama Melrose, but nothing spectacular).

MK: Crystal Palace buffet has some vegan ops. Columbia Harbor House has vegan chili and steamed broccoli. Also, Dole Whips are vegan, as are all soft pretzels and popcorn in the parks

Contemporary: 1900 PF isn't as amazing without Chef TJ, but they do make a delicious stir-fry for vegans, plus there is veggie sushi and a few salad and veggie dishes at the buffet you can eat, and they will prepare you a vegan dessert

Poly: Ohana will make a tofu and veggie stir fry

Beach Club: Beaches and Cream has a veggie burger and lots of vegan ice creams for dessert

A lot of food courts have make your own pasta or salad with toppings like chickpeas, olives, and so forth

Try checking out menus here: http://allears.net/dining/menu/
And recommendations here: http://allears.net/din/vegtsparks.htm

I'm sure I've forgotten some. Have fun. Disney is a great place to eat vegan.
