Vegan mom takes on Disney..... Dec, 2011 PTR

I hope you are feeling better!!

I love your baggallini! I bought one for WDW a couple of years ago - I carried it so much even away from the parks that it's worn out! But lasted a good two years before it even showed signs of wear! That color is awesome, too! :thumbsup2

Did you get at those ADR's yet?

I hope you feel better soon. I know the crud seems to be going around. Praying you stay out of the hospital!!!!

:hug:Feel better! Here are a couple of..... :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes to help you along as well! I'll keep you in our prayers to not end up in the hospital again! Honestly my husband's family eats a lot of spicy spicy food and drink a concoction of ginger boiled in water with lemon rind chunks then use that water to make tea and squeeze the lemon in. I'm not sure if you'd be okay with this, but I have begun doing it and it helps me too! But feel better!

Sending prayers and good vibes your way!

I hope you are feeling better!!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers everyone. I did end up in the hospital the next day and stayed for 2 days. I got pneumonia. Yuck! Thankfully it was caught really early and they were able to give me antibiotics right away. I'm feeling much better already. I came home again Tuesday afternoon. My chest still hurts if I cough or sneeze but I can breathe again.

My hubby surprised me with..... see next post :)

Our new Puppy!!!

We have been talking for awhile about getting a dog. We have tried in the past but just have not had time to take care of a dog and the kids have been too small. So it ended up being too much work for me and not fair to the dog so we had to give it away.

But now, I am home almost always, the kids are older and able to help and I have done TONS of research on the right type of dog for us and how to train it properly. I told my hubby that I would only do this if we did it right. got the right dog, the right supplies and at the right time.

I found a family that had puppies for sale that were in our price range. I was going to go and see them but got sick. I was stressing because there was a certain puppy that I was pretty sure I wanted and didn't want it to go to another family.

So aparently my hubby took the kids after school on Monday and went and saw the puppies. He and I had talked about what to look for as the puppies played so that we would hopefully get a good doggie. :)

Well, I guess it all went well because when I came home on Tuesday, much to my surprise there was the puppy that I wanted.

I had already gone out and gotten all the supplies and dh and kids set everything up. It was a very sweet surprise and now I have my little friend to share my daytime with. :)

He is a Shih-tzu cross. Mostly shih-tzu with a bit of bichon in him. You can see that in is slightly curly coat. He will be 8 weeks on Saturday. He was trained on puppy pads at his home and so far he has continued to use them and not had any accidents in the house. I bought a doggy fence (think play pen) and put his kennel, water and doggy bathroom in it. He has slept in is kennel through the night with no problems. The only time he wines in his Den is when I am home and he is in there. I want him to be happy in his Den because there are time when I am teaching that he can't just wander everywhere in the house.

I am finished teaching a few weeks and then we will get down to serious training. though my dd is already starting. :) It took her and I one day to get him to stop wining in the Den to be let out. Now when he sees us he lies down at the door and wags his tail (well, more like his whole body!)

So much fun having a puppy in the house. Lots of work but I have to say it is so much better with the kids being old enough to take on responsibility for things and not have it be all on my shoulders to get things done. They can't wait to take him outdoors and go on walks and all that fun stuff! :woohoo:

I think I am done with my temp. plan and ADR's. I will post more them a little later. I have to go to class now and have a 45 min drive to get there.

HE IS SO STINKIN' CUTE! Love the pic of him laying spread eagle on the couch! Precious! :lovestruc

1st- I am so happy that you feel better! I'm kinda sorry that you ended up in the hospital, but at least you got taken care of and it's clearing up because they caught it early!

2nd- That little puppy is just so gosh darn cute! I love that little face! Enjoy him!

What a cute puppy!

Glad to hear that you're on the mend. Hospital stays ain't no fun (and I've discovered that they don't give frequent flyer miles... the nerve! ;) )

I'm all caught up again.
I'm happy to hear that you are feeling better. Congratulations on your new puppy, I love dogs just as much as Disney World. Yours is a cutie.

It looks like I need to go to AAA and look at park bags, it's awesome that you found what you wanted and are so happy with it, I love when I come across a great find that will do the trick.

Did you try looking at Target for Disney shirts for your son, I just got a cute muppets shirt, it's after the Beatles album Abby Road, all of them walking across the cross walk. It's sorta Disney since DHS has the muppets there but yet it's not kiddish. They also have a Tshirt with the little green aliens from toy story, I forgot what it says though.

Thanks everyone, I have to say, don't like hospitals, wish I didn't know them so well, but sure am glad they are there when I need em! I am getting better everyday and it feels really good to say that! :cool1:

As for puppy.... I agree, he is just sooooo cute! :cutie: we love him to pieces already.

So I'm starting to think I should have named my PTR.... "life as a drama queen!" We have had some intersting drama here lately, with me being sick, doing exams, new puppy, flooding etc etc :rotfl:

So here is my next installment of dramatic conversations NOT to have in front of the kids! popcorn::

My mom and I took the kids to the museum a couple weekends back. We were all having a wonderful time. The kids love museums and they were having a great space/science display special display.

We went to the cafateria for lunch and my conversation with my mom went like this (don't forget my kids are sitting right there)

MOM: Hey Laura, I got a really great email this week. Did you see it too? It was all about Disney and their dining plans.

ME: (trying to not go bug eyed) Um, yeah I think I saw it, I get lots of emails through out the year from them.

MOM: Yes, but this one I noticed had dining until end of Sept. Too bad eh?

ME: (shooting daggers at my mom) oh, are you planning to go again or something?

At this point my dd is trying to listen in, I can see her sitting up really tall and kind of leaning over.

MOM: no no, I was thinking of you!

ME: (BIG STAGE WHISPER) MOOOOOOMMMMM!!!

MOM: What?

ME: as I am now trying to get off topic..... Yes, I always get those kind of emails but I don't really pay attention to them. I should probably get off their lists since who knows if we will ever go back again!!

Gotta love clueless mothers!!! Sheesh! She truly had no clue, though she has known from the start that I was not telling the kids yet, she is even helping me plan the surprise! Good thing I luv her or she would have been in BIG trouble. :goodvibes

Hmmmmm, don't think I fooled my dd :) Like I've said before, I know that when I do finally tell them she will inform me that she KNEW long before! :worship:

Stay tuned for the next episode in "My life as a drama queen" ..... popcorn:::rotfl2:

OMG!!! I bet you were just on edge trying to get your mom to not say too much.

Life as a drama queen... I think we all could call our PTR's that...well, at least I know I could too.:rolleyes1

Yep I could name mine that too! :scared1:Oh my... Hopefully your DD starts to really believe you aren't going after she sees that the summer had passed with no Disney!

Plenty of drama been happening here, too! :thumbsup2 I think that's why we all get along so well?? :goodvibes We've all definitely had our share of drama but we are all very good at keeping it from consuming us! Does that make us polished drama queens? princess:

We can make a Dramatic Disney Christmas group:lmao:

I was! She apologized later for almost spilling the beans and it's funny, she is now very, very careful about what she says when my dd is around :rotfl2:

I don't know if all the drama that we all relate too is a good thing? :rotfl2:

It has been very busy here the past few days, no time to be on the boards. Between work, family and new puppy I'm running from morning till night. It won't stop till the end of June either. My dh and I are planning to go away for a couple of days once the kids are at camp, we both really need a break and need to do something different. :)

Finally, here it is. I think if have my newest plan ready to go. :) There is one day in the week that I have no plan for yet. Not sure what park to do again or if we will do different things. I may have to wait to talk to kids and hubby about the final day.

So here we go:
Day 1 Arrival - Saturday

I have not book the flight yet but if I get the flight I want then we will be arriving in Orlando at 6:15pm. By the time we get to POP and settle in and get luggage, I think we will be ready to call it a night. We will eat at the food court and just hang out. Gotta soak up the Disney ambiance! :santa:

Day 2 MK - Sunday

I think I said this last time. I have to do MK first. I know lots of people save this park for later but I HAVE to go to MK first. It just isn't a Disney vacation without seeing the castle. I don't know if it will be busy, it is a Sunday but I'm not really worried. We will be at MK later in the week again so we can do more/extra rides then if need be.
I want to be at the park for RD. We never made any RD last time and I am determined to get to one!

I'm debating on breakfast for this day. It would be easier to do br at Pop but CP would be fun too. And I'm not sure if I can fit CP in later in the week. So CP is on my temp list right now for this day.

BR: CP
Lu: Columbia Harbor house
Dn: Kona @ Poly

Day 3 Epcot - Monday

Br: Pop
Lu: Sunshine Season
Dn: Coral Reef dining package - for Candlelight Processional

Day 4 DHS - Tuesday

Br: Pop
Lu: Backlot Express
Dn: Sci-fi

I know we can do a dining pkg for Fantasmic but I don't think we will. Last time we went we had great seats and didn't really wait at all. I'm not worried about it this time either and Sci-fi was high on the list for kids to do from last time :)

Day 5 AK and MK Wednesday - this is also MVMCP day

Br: Pop
Lu: Yak and Yeti
Dn: The Wave

Day 6 DTD - Thursday

We are planning on spending the whole day at DTD but since it is 'open' later than a park day I figured we would do it after ou MVMCP since we will all want to sleep in that day.

BR: Pop
Lu: earl of Sand
Dn: Boma @ AK

I think going to Boma this night will work well.If I am reading the buses correctly we would have to bus to DTD anyways to get to Boma, so hopefully this will save some time. :)

Day 7 ?????? Friday

This is the day I'm debating on. Don't know where to go for this day. So I can split up my AK and MK days and make them both full days. That would mean that I can go to CP on a MK day other than on Sunday and the AK would be an earlier night back at Pop. OR we could split up: DD LOVES epcot and would spend many days there but the 'boys' aren't really excited about that park. I think that they will enjoy either DHS or DTD. We will be going to Disney Quest the day before but who knows, they may want to go back again. And so, I debate.....

Day 8 Departure day.

Our plane leaves at 7pm this day so we have time to do stuff. At this point I have 'extra' park tickets so we could go to another park or go back to DTD.

The other debate right now is....

Do I keep our 6 day pass for the parks or drop it to 5? We can certainly do everything we want in 5 days, though 6 means we can be a bit more relaxed. It's hard to say what I want to do yet at this point. I guess it is a bit too early to try and decide that on my part. :confused3

So there you go. That is my plan once again, so far. There are still a few things up in the air and debates going on and research still being done. I KNOW it will change again but I'm starting to feel the pressure since there are ADR's to book soon!! :scared1::laughing:

Your days look very well planned out. Very organized. :thumbsup2

You have a bunch of places that also want to eat at.

If I am able to change my stay to include a split at Pop... we just just see each other at breakfast one morning. :goodvibes

I like the plans! Very well organized like Ann said! I have to get on here and devote some time into putting things in concrete! How does that Candlelight one work? How do you know when it's going on? I don't see it listed..... maybe I am reading it wrong or something?

:thumbsup2 Great plans! Care to do mine?? :confused3

I'm going to tweak again tonight... I just need to stop it already! :rolleyes1

:) Thanks. I have to keep reminding myself that this is not a trip all about eating. There are so many good places to choose from that I find it hard to not spend all my time at it! :rotfl2:

wouldn't it be fun to have breakfast together! I don't think i have ever met up with someone that I only know from online. :cool2:

Candlelight : so far I have not found the dates listed, so my day may change but when i was looking at last years schedule it seemed like it was on almost nightly. I think if you go to all ears you can find the Christmas section and the CP dates and guest speakers for last year are listed there.

:thumbsup2 Great plans! Care to do mine?? :confused3
:rotfl::rotfl: Sure why not, I'm on a roll now! :rotfl::rotfl:

I swear it's the tweaking that gets me in the most trouble. And honestly it doesn't matter when I start planning I will tweak until almost before we go.

AND I haven't even started on my daily itineraries yet!! Last time I had it down to a science, what ride, what time and then I knew where we would be for lunch and parades and.... etc etc etc. :lmao:

A loooong time ago when the internet was still a bit new (early 90's) I was invited to join a mom's group online. We ended up meeting regularly at various places. I made dear friends that way. Sadly I fell out of contact with them.(thanks to facebook now back in contact) However, some of them remained close.

Since then I haven't really met anyone from online. Unless you count the poor dis person I met when delivering the fridge from the swap I did last sept. I am sure that poor gal was not left with a "I loved meeting someone from online" experience. :rolleyes1 Lets just say, heat...exhaustion... frustration.... I was not so pleasant. I have decided I am not the type of person who handles draggin a fridge to someone else's room the night before I am checking out well. It sounds like a good idea, but it really wasn't. I had to laugh. I saw that there can be tree swaps around Christmas. For a brief moment I thought. "wow, wouldn't that be fun". Then I remembered... :sad2:
