We are planning a stay to VB in April 2003. For the same number of points we can stay at either a studio or a Deluxe Inn Ocean View room. Can someone please tell me the differences in these rooms? Thanks.

The ocean view room is supposed to have a view of the ocean. A studio may or may not have any view at all.

Studio's have a fold-out couch and a bed. Inn rooms have various bed combinations.

The Inn room we had last year had 2 queen beds - no sleep sofa.
I believe the studios are slightly smaller than an inn room. The Inn Room has a kitchenette area with refrigerator. If you want an ocean view from the Inn Building you must be on the 3rd or 4th floor. I would imagine the same to be true of the studios.
If you aren't up high enough you'll be looking at the dune in front of the resort. In either case it is a great vacation spot. Good luck!

We are also thinking of going next April (week before Easter). I thought the Inn rooms did not have a kitchenette. Can someone please verify that an Inn room has a kitchenette. If the answer is yes, then why would someone want a studio? Just curious as to why people choose a studio over an Inn room and vice versa.

I would agree. Why a studio over an Inn Room? Both rooms are the same points, which is curious since the Inn Room sounds nicer.

It used to be that Inn rooms were hard to get because not many of them were declared in to member inventory. In fact, I remember reading a rumor on this board once that said DVD regretted declaring any of the Inn rooms into member inventory, and that if they had it to do over again, the Inn would have been kept entirely seperate (I think DVD was finding that small conventions could easily be hosted at VB and brought in better money).

Yes, the Inn rooms also have a kitchenette

Really the question isn't why would someone choose an Inn room vs. a studio - the question is why would someone choose either of them, when a 1BR, 2BR or Beach Cottage are so much better :D

I think there are only a few dedicated studio's, so most of the studios are likely to see use as part of a 2BR lockoff. Your best bet for a studio with any kid of view is for a second or third floor (no fourth floor for the villas).

In our case, there is my husband, my son, and myself. We are looking to get away over Easter and use the least amount of points. We are going to stay at BCV in Dec in a 1BR, but that will be a 8-night stay vs. a 4-night stay in VB. We feel it will suit our needs fine.

My Disney guide advised that we would probably be happier with an Inn Room vs a Studio because of many of the issues listed above. Obviously a one bedroom or larger accomodations are greatly superior but an Inn Room is a nice choice for someone trying to stretch their points. I was in Inn Room 2335 (If my memory is good) and we had a small counter area with cabinets over it and a small refrigerator under the counter. There was also a small deck with two chairs as well. Since I was sending my college aged daughter to Old Key West in the same use year, renting an Inn Room was fine for my wife and I. It all depends on what your vacation plans are. Next time I go to Vero I'll probably get a 1 BR. I'd love to go for a Grand Villa if I could coordinate the time with some other family members.

Inn rooms do have microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. They also have two queen sized beds, which I prefer to bed and pull-out sofa. Stretching points is easy at VB beause they have a restaurant there, as well as a nearby Publix and assorted local eateries.

The past two Septembers I rented Inn rooms and invited assorted relatives and guests. This allows everyone privacy as well as space. Last year we had three adjacent rooms to accommodate 6 people, two of whom paid their way (they insisted, having come as guests a couple of times before). wish I had kown then about renting points.

One thing I love about having points is being able to share them.

Yesterday I mailed my check for 30 add-on HH points. I'm excited.

Thanks, by the way, to Nick and Cindy for welcoming me to the DIS boards. I'm learning a lot!

We stayed in a Deluxe Inn room with an Ocean view. It was on the fourth floor and had a wonderful view of the ocean.

The room itself was HUGE. It had a king-sized bed, small table with two chairs, a queen-sized pull out, another chair, and the mini kitchen (microwave, refrig, coffee pot). I don't remember a toaster, but their might have been one.

I would say the room was almost twice the size of the studios at BWV (my only other point of reference). This room might have been this size due to its location on the corner of the main building.

My understanding is that only the Inn rooms will guarentee the ocean view.

We had a great time and will be going to VB again in the future!

mickey'smj,

"Your welcome", and congradulations on your HH add-on!!!!
