VB Kids Activities and Min. Ages

Hi....we're headed to VB with a ds (9), dd (5), and another ds (will be 3 in August.)

What types of activities are provided for kids these ages? I've read about the Unbirthday Party and Camp Fires. Anything else going on? I think my ds (9) in particular will have a lot more fun if he can hook up with some kids his age. (We're traveling with another family who already have kids the same ages as the youngest two.) Do they have any kind of organized sports or yard games? Seems like a long time ago I read they do, but haven't seen anything about that recently. Do they have a Community Hall with Video Games similar to BWV? (I'm not sure what I hope the answer is to that one......if they do have video games, my one hope is that they are free; I could go broke if the only option is a traditional arcade.....at least if I know in advance I can set some ground rules ahead of time.)

Also, I read somewhere that VB has a 'kids club' type arrangement....sounded something like the Neverland Club or one of the resort-type babysitting arrangements. Anybody know what the min. age is? I know the WDW min. age is usually 4, but is it the same at VB? Anyone have any personal experience/opinions about the quality of care? What activities are offered for the kids?

We just returned last week from VB. I found their activities to be much better then anything offered at OKW and BWV - JMO! My kids are 4 and 7. They have things going most of the day. My 7 year old was old enough for almost all of the activities except the kayak and cell painting. I am guessing she could have done the cell painting if I would have stayed with her but we forgot about it and ended up swimming instead. I took my 4 year old to most of the things my 7 year old wanted to do and they said as long as I stayed to help him, they didn't mind at all. They made really cool tee-shirts. They had soccer, sandcastle building, chalk drawings, and the greatest unbirthday party!

The arcade is the traditional arcade - sorry! They do have a free foosball table in the community hall plus there is ping pong and minigolf.

We didn't do the kids club but my daughter made friends with a girl that did it every night she was there. She seemed to really enjoy it. It is $25 for DVC members per child and that includes dinner.

My daughter is very outgoing and made many friends at the pool. Once she had friends, they all decided which activity they wanted to do. I am sure your son (and the rest of your family) will have a blast! Enjoy!

Do they have a Community Hall with Video Games similar to BWV? Yes, at a cost. Although they used to have a game hooked up to the community hall TV. By the way, playstations just droped to $49, might be worth the investment.

'kids club' type arrangement - Discovery Club, 4-12 year olds, m, w, fr, sat, 5-8p (?)

Introduction to Animation and cell painting, all ages

There are activities all day, a schedule will be left at you door every evening of kids activities, like treasure hunts, sport events, tonka truck sand activities, pool games, snokling lessons, bean bag toss, story telling and movies, etc. That's all I can remember right now. There's also basket ball, shuffle board, bike riding and putt putt.

Also, you'll enjoy the geen cabin room where the kids can get milkshakes, mom and dad a nice drink and you can listen to live music. It's the most kid friendly lounge I've ever been in. Great view of the ocean.

Wow, thanks CaptainMidnight and LisaR for the update! We are going to be there on Saturday and it's our first DVC trip. I was worried about our 5 year old having enough to do......silly me!
