What does availiability typically look like?
Peak season at South Florida beaches is in the Spring, with March and April (Spring Break) being the most popular. Summer is typically not as difficult to reserve as Spring is. By calling at 7 months, you can likely get any week you want. I've had luck getting summer time calling only a few months prior.

I would love to try VB out in a couple of years (probably in July '09) and was just wondering this past week what the odds would be to get multiple units if it's not our home resort? I don't know if some size / type units go first or how many there are of each. We might like to plan something in a combination of (1) 2 bedroom along with (2) studios or Inn Rooms OR possibly (2) 2 bedroom bedroom units or (1) 3 bedroom unit or even possibly (5) studio / inn rooms (I know, that one really sounds greedy doesn't it?!) I'm just trying to get an idea of the unit type availability if we would want to bring some more family members with us that year (parents and /or brothers & their families). Are the 3 bedroom units OUT of the question at 7 months? Are those harder to get than the smaller units? Do you know what goes first? Just wondering what our best odds might be if we wanted to have 12-16 ppl...

As far as the Kennedy Space Center / Port Canaveral area - how far of a drive is that? It's not far is it? Just curious...

Thanks! I don't care in the least if they connect - I'm just wondering if I can snag enough space w/ our points to fit 12-16 ppl. Our points are already committed for this yr. and next so this will be in a couple of years from now - nobody else in my family plans this far out, although we've put the idea out there for them to think over! I'm just looking to see what we might be able to do with our points & would love to try Vero. When it comes time to get a commitment from our families we'll have to have a vote for WDW or VB. None of them have a lot of money so VB would be a lot cheaper if they don't have to buy park tickets...and it uses less points so better for us...

Thanks for posting this most excellent VB thread.

I have already printed it our twice to take with us for our July 22- 28, 2008 stay. Since we're driving down, I decided to purchase our own Umbrellas, etc, and cheked out Wal*Mart, Target, Home Depot Lowes, and many websites. I found this site to have the best quality of product along with the best prices, so I'll post a link here, hope it helps!

They have 8 foot diameter beach umbrellas that tilt, which I'm intereted in.

I also got a MistyMate personal cooler. Basically a plastic bottle you fill with water (or ice water) pressurize, and then releases a fine cooling mist on demand. Found mine for less than $14.00 (The 10oz size).

I'll take photos and post results after usage.
