Does anyone use this product? Have you had the tape break? Were you able to fix it? It didn't come with any directions, and the tape broke...and now I can't get it set back up again. 2 of us tried for 1/2 hour, and I finally just started pushing the tabs on with my fingers.

HELP!! I looked and looked online...no directions, just lots of sites that sell the stuff. It has to be fixable!...sheesh...talk about frustrated!!! I mean $12.99 and I'm putting on the tabs myself?!? I could have bought the refill and gotten the same results...:headache:

Sorry to hear that but kind of relieved I'm not the only one this has happened to :sad2: Yes, the same thing happened to me and it was one of the most expensive adhesives I've ever used. I gave it to DH to try to fix and he got it working, only to have it break again. I ended up using the individual tabs, so it wasn't a complete waste, but it was a hassle to not have them on the tape in the dispenser. Now I am back to using only L3 and the CM tape runner.

I have it and I just refeed the tape. Take out the used part of the tape roll and just reload it like you would a new roll. Pull the tabs off as you go though if you are in the middle of a project. That way at least you don't loss anything.

I can't figure out the path that the tape takes in the dispenser. I've never replaced the roll. I guess I have to open a refill to figure out the path it tape takes inside this !@#$%$^ thing....:headache:

Lay out the tape roller so the rolling white part that is pointing down. Place the new roll on the blue post so it is going clock wise. Run the tape around the rounded part of the blue, yours is blue right?
Go over the white post, around the blue post starting under it and snap it in to the white ring so it will spin in a counter clockwise position.

Clear as mud right?!? There is an arrow near the blue post showing which direction the tape is supposed to run.
If you don't get it, let me know and I'll post pics tomorrow.

Nope, sorry, I still can't picute it. If you could just post a pic with the tape in place that would be so great! I didn't look at the path when I got it, and when it broke it was all busted to bupkiss I can't tell how it was supposed to go. Thanks so much!!!

Are you going to be up for a while? If you are I'll snap a pic now.

Here you go!!

:cool1:

It works again!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!! I was making it harder than it really was. I REALLY appreciate that pic!

Sorry I didn't respond earlier, I went to bed after my last post.

Buffy you are the BEST!! :teeth:

Glad I could help! I messed it up a time or two myself. I've done it a million times but for some reason once during a class I couldn't get it. Good thing I have a CM runner as backup!

Wish I'd had your instructions and picture when mine broke. I just used the tabs individually until I ran out. Don't plan on buying it again, especially since it seems many people have this same problem.

Thanks for posting the solution Buffy!!

I love my Tab Dispenser and now am on my 2nd one (The first ones were gray- the new ones are pretty colors...I now have a purple one)

My only complaint is that when I go to fast one often lodges on the inside which makes the roller wheel stick-

Ive only had the tape break one and its cause I didnt give enough slack when attaching it to the collection wheel

Wish I had had this info a few years ago.

I ended up selling the Vario on a thrift sale for a dollar or two.:sad1:

I can't get mine to roll correctly at all... I just spin the wheel manually and grab the tab. It's really really REALLY annoying! And I never have touched it otherwise... this is straight out of the packaging :confused3

Vario USED to be a great product when it was Hermafix. If you ask me, it doesn't stick as well as it used to and the tapes break MUCH more often. I've switched to the ATG even if it is heavy and clunky.

My dispenser is an oldy - by Hermafix. Refilled many times. But I've never been able to get it to roll....OR position the tab exactly where I want it. I like my tabs right in the corner or right along the edge. So, I end up manually feeding them & positioning by hand. However, the tabs stick really well.

My other favorite is a red tape runner dispenser by DUCK. Sold at Walmart in their office supply or scotch tape section. Sticks great. Easy to use & position. It just runs out WAY too fast.

I have to say that this thing is great now that it is working (thanks again Buffy). I just roll the little tab up onto the wheel and tap it where I want it...I think I am using less adhesive than when I use the dotto because I get 1 at a time, not a whole strip. It's been great so far...

I also love Duck, but hate how it runs out so quickly. Sometimes I use the JoAnn 40% coupon to buy their 4-pack.
