Vaporizor or humidator?

Hello, I need to purchase either a vaporizator or a humidator (and I need spelling lessons).

My boyfriend has electric heat which is very dry. Aditonally we both also have coughs.

I have read up on both and box say they are good for colds.

Any advice?

Either will work. My preference is for a cold humidifier, especially for families with children. A vaporizer puts out steam which can severely burn a child if they tip it over. Whichever you choose, just be sure you clean it daily with a bleach solution so you don't get aerosolized baddies in the air.

You want a humidifier. Preferably a cool mist one.

A vaporizer is usually used with a menthol liquid (like Vick's) to help soothe coughing at night from being sick. To combat against dry air (static, dry hands, etc indoors) you just need a humidifier.
