vanilla beans in Cozumel

I know you can purchase vanilla extract but I don't know about purchasing vanilla beans. I do know that when you debark the ship there is a place to deposit all fruits and vegetables so you might not be able to bring vanilla beans back. I had the same question and asked my brother who is in customs. Vanilla beans are considered a spice / flavoring and not a fruit. They are actually part of a dried Orchid., you can bring vanilla beans back into the states
