Thank you so much, I can't wait to display the castle in our house. We're finishing up our bedroom and I think it will match pretty good in there. It will be such a great reminder of our wedding. :bride:

This is a picture my mom took and I think it turned out great:

WOW. That is a gorgeous cake table. I love that castle. Hmmmmmmmm - maybe I need to go see if I can get one of those, I think it would great on top of my fireplace. The food looked real yummy (wait a minute I have to wipe the drool off of my keyboard). Everything is great. Love the way the flowers were displayed as well.

I so forgot to mention in my last post that your food porn pictures made me so freaking hungry...:lmao: not to mention that it made me miss Disney even more! I keep telling myself I only have a few more weeks to go! :goodvibes
I feel ya on the driving thing too. I have to drive 4 1/2 hours one way to get to Chicago....not looking forward to it.:headache:

Vanessa,

Your cake table turned out really awesome!! I know I saw the pictures of it before, but it is so impressive!!! :worship: I am going to do Jim Shore Disney pieces as my centerpieces, so I will have to look into getting that one when I go to Disney....Everything looks great, especially the food...yummy!!

Everything looks great, and I swear, the first pic I saw of a turtle I thought was from Crush!

I love the idea of the bouquet's / tussie mussies with the cylinders, and reusing the floral elements.

I know Val saw it, we are going for her planning session in 2 days :cool1: and I HOPE I remember to suggest it to her when we are there!

You are such an inspiration!

Vanessa - your cake display was just absolutely amazing!!!! I've never seen anything like that!!!

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW - Just keep repeating that word because its all I've been saying whilst I've been reading your report!

And you have totally inspired me to use snowglobes somewhere in our decor - I am obsessed with them and why it never occured to me before now to use them shows exactly the state my head is in lately :upsidedow

Hi Ladies,

I just got back from my business trip to Washington DC last night. After a few minor car problems, I was ready to be home after 15 hours on the road :confused3 I will be back to my trip report at some point this week. I have jury duty for several days, so that will put me a little behind too.

WOW. That is a gorgeous cake table. I love that castle. Hmmmmmmmm - maybe I need to go see if I can get one of those, I think it would great on top of my fireplace. Thank you Laura, I was so happy with how everything came out. We're using the castle in our bedroom; so you'll have to let me know if you end up with one too.

So, when exactly do you leave on your trip? I'm so totally jealous; I'm already trying to plan when we're going to go for our anniversary.

The Jim Shore items for your centerpieces is a great idea. They had a lot of different ones at the store on Main Street where they sell the glass figures, watches, etc. It is on the opposite side of the Emporium and is just a few doors down from the candy shop.

Everything looks great, and I swear, the first pic I saw of a turtle I thought was from Crush!

:) I was so excited when the turtle made his rounds at the reception; it was perfect for Kris.

Reusing the bouquets was a definite money saver. I have seen other brides have the bouquets on the tables, but I wanted mine to look a little more uniform, so I went with the cylinders.

I know you're both already at Disneyland, so I can't wait to hear Val's report when you get back.

Vanessa - your cake display was just absolutely amazing!!!! I've never seen anything like that!!!

They really did a great job; I wanted something different from the regular displays they do (well I guess nothing at Disney is ordinary, they are all fantastic :wizard:) and I wasn't disappointed!

I'm glad I was able to serve as inspiration ;) It is so great to relive these memoreis with all of you and to show how nice it is to see all your plans come together.

I'm glad you can carry on the snowglobe tradition. I picked it up the idea from another bride when I was down for my planning session :goodvibes We even had some on our guestbook/gift table which is a nice touch if you don't use them at every table.

Everything is beautiful!!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you're enjoying my report :)

Vanessa - I looked up on Jim Shore's website and I cannot find the castle. I actually seen a lot of his things in Hallmark but yours looks like it's ceramic.

Hi Laura, I think it might be an exclusive to Walt Disney World. I only saw it at Magic Kingdom, but I think Lynn said she saw it at Downtown Disney too. My piece is even signed by Jim Shore, so I'm not sure if it was a limited edition or not it's the same wood-like material as the other ones (although I totally agree it does look ceramic in some of the photos). I can check the box if you want to see if it's a special edition, just let me know and I'll pull it out :goodvibes

Oh I thought it was ceramic. I would love for you to look at the box. If I can't get here then I will definately wait until next year, would you mind if I ask how much you paid for it? You can pm me if you would like. If you look on his site there is a cute mickey pumpkin I want for my mantel for Halloween.

Definately!! and I'm sure you are inspiring more people each day :goodvibes I'm still trying to think of how I can incorporate some snowglobes into our day. We're having some columns down each side of the aisle and I'm now wondering whether to put a small globe on top with my existing decor - hmmmm decisions!! :surfweb: Or I might change the centerpiece we were going to use on the yacht and see if we could use a medium sized snowglobe instead - especially if I could find a beachy themed one .... oooo I think I'm onto something now!! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more about your day :goodvibes

Have you checked out www.disneyshopping.com? They usually have a pretty good selection there; I bought two from them for our wedding.

I like the idea for the centerpiece on the yacht, then you would see it more than on the columns I think. :goodvibes

The box is not at my house right now :upsidedow so I will have to check this weekend, but I promise to let you know soon.

I don't mind saying what the cost was since it is close to the chocolate castle that is on the cakes anyway. I paid around $110 with tax. I figured this was worth it since it's much easier to keep than the chocolate one (although I know some brides have been successful in keeping it.)

I'll have a nosey on there, thanks for the tip  I'm going to look on ebay aswell, that like my second home lately :surfweb: :rotfl:

Yeah, It would be right infront of us then. Rosie emailed back and said I could have the column toppers that I wanted so I'm really happy about that :woohoo: I'm going to have a proper look for a really nice snowglobe and see if we can use that on the yacht. The original idea I had was a bowl with sand & shells and a candle in because we were going for a beachy theme for the cake cutting & meal on the yacht, theres a photo in my PJ. Which do you think would look cute? Rosie isnt sure whether we could use the bowl idea yet, I think she's contacting people at the marina or something to try and find out - so I guess it good for us to have a back up plan :wizard:

There are usually quite a few on eBay; there are even some from a few years ago that are the wedding ones. They still sell a Mickey & Minnie bride and groom one at Downtown Disney and some of the other shops on property.

I think the glass bowl with the sand and shells would be cute too; I've seen some really cute things for beach themed weddings. Although as you know I'm partial to snowglobes :cutie: Are you wanting something that you can keep afterwards or just for use at the wedding?
