If you have early dining, what time will get outside to the taxi stand after getting luggage going through customs etc?

You should be good by 9:00 for sure. Also, in case you’re not aware, Cabanas is also open for a buffet breakfast on the last morning.

They call a different Disney character group to exit and we (early dining) were out by 9ish. Drove son & family to airport by 10ish...light traffic. We live in Portland, OR so we drove up. Driving home took forever with delays at the border and around Seattle. However, it was all worth it for one of the best of eight DCL cruises we have taken.

Also, if you have an earlier flight you can register with Guest Services for early disembark or you can do the self-carry and be one of the first off the boat (and thus to the taxi line).

Although when we got off Wonder, we were one of the last groups off and there were still dozens of taxis - they know where to be on disembark days!

Side note: the taxis in Vancouver were (in our experience) some of the cleanest, most well run and most honest, polite drivers we've experienced.

I’m not sure that they’re all honest. The guy that took us from the airport to our hotel charged us $50 plus tip for three adults and one teen. The hotel said that shouldn’t of happened and it was rare. Our return trip was $15 we gave him a $10 tip.

Case in point as to why I caveated that with "in our experience." There are bound to be bad apples in with every lot of good ones.

Because there are 6 of us and we had a boatload (pun intended) of luggage, we had to take 2 cabs. We were waiting in line to get through security inside the airport when the driver of the taxi my wife and sons had been in came in and gave her her cell phone, which had fallen out of her pocket. He had left, seen it, driven back around and came inside to look for us. We were blown away.

That said, individual results may vary, please consult your physician prior to use and remember that batteries are not always included! :-)

Vancouver taxis are supposed to adhere to a flat rate system from the airport to various zones. To most of downtown it is $35, to Richmond it's $20. The flat rate fares don't apply to a trip to the airport, though. Sorry you had that experience!

We were at the Sylvia hotel. Not exactly down town so I don’t know?
