I am planning a trip to WDW with my family in late Jan/ early Feb 2006. I have my DH and a DD princess: 5 and DS :moped: 4. Is it worth it to spend the extra money for the moderate room? We were looking at Pop Century or Port Orleans French Quarter. Also I have heard that the king size bed rooms come with a day bed. Is that bed big enough for my 4 &5 yr old to share? Any advice will be welcome.

Thanks

I would definitely aim for a moderate room, at least, with four people. The extra space would mean a lot to us. YMMV.

I'd also go for the moderate. Besides the room being bigger, the pools are much better IMHO. The main pool at CBR was great. I didn't enjoy the pools at ASMu nearly as much. CBR/moderate pools have hottubs (which I saw younger kids in with parents, as well as adults) and slides and waterspouts and stuff. The ASMu pool had some fountains spitting out water, but that was it. I also thought the water felt warmer in the moderate pools, but that may have been the time of year I went (spring for mod, fall for value), or the fact that more people were using the pools at the moderate resort than at the value.

At the CBR each group of buildings had their own bus stop. At the values (I don't know about PC) there's one bus stop for the whole resort. If walking is an issue with the kids, the moderates may also be better.

It's more money, but there are many comforts that you get for you bucks.

I would also go for the moderate, the pools all have slides and there is a little more space in the rooms. If I remember correctly the toilet/sink area in the moderates are separated.

I have stayed in King rooms in all the moderates and they do not have day beds. The deluxe resort king rooms in Yacht and beach club have day beds.
I would definatly recommend the moderate resorts if you are putting 4 people in a room.
If you watch prices some times you can get a room at the Wilderness lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge(basic view) for the same price of a moderate waterview. There rooms have 2 queen beds or a set of bunkbeds and a queen instead of doubles.

I have stayed at POFQ twice and loved it but my favorite moderate is Coronodo Springs.

Good luck :sunny:

We enjoyed our stay at Pop last year. My two DD's were 14 and 10 when we were there and they loved Pop. I think your two would probably have a great time there as well. This year, DH said that we could stay at POFQ for my birthday. I've heard great things about it, so I think we will be happy. We need the extra space of a moderate since the girls are practically adult size now! Wherever you decide to stay, have fun! :wave2:
