Theming does play an important part in liking a certain Resort.
Some guests really enjoy Pop. They like the giant big wheel, can of playdough or some other giant icon that brings back fond childhood memories.
Me? I enjoy the icons at the All Stars.

Some people choose a resort because of the pool or waterslide.

Some people enjoy being able to take a boat ride to DTD.
Still others think the monorail resorts are the best.
And there are those who say the Epcot Resorts can't be beat.
It is a wonderful world. People are different and they enjoy different
Resorts and Disney gives us lots of choices.

Additionally, even though we can afford more, it still is senseless to overpay just because you can. We look for value in everything we do, but are sure not to penny pinch on quality. When it comes to a vacation resort at Disney, the minimal quality difference from value to moderate or even deluxe just don't come close to being worth it in our opinion.
.
Preds just summed it up with the above statement. There really is a minimal quality difference from value to moderate or even deluxe. (At Disney.)
So when you stay at Disney stay at the resort you think your family will enjoy the most. Just because a resort costs more does not mean the quality is better.
