Value season vs. Swan-Dolphin Deal

Maybe someone here can give me some insight. I havent booked yet, but we are definitely planning a 6 night trip the third week in August. Im staying at the Dolphin for 3 nights in April using an advertised superbowl promo for residents of NY and MA. So, I priced my planned week long stay using that discount (since it runs all yr.)and it ends up being $274 less than a standard room at POR for the same amount of nights.

My silly question is - Do you think its reasonable for me to think that Disney would release a value season discount deep enough to blow the Dolphin's discount out of the water or do you think that it would end up being about even when including Disney's value season specials?

Im sorry if this question sounds dumb,lol. It's just that I have to book 2 rooms and I NEED to ge the best deal I possibly can.

Any thoughts are appreciated

Why not just book the Dolphin now? You can always cancel it if a discount comes out that you would rather have.

There has been free dining in August for the last 8 years, it's a pretty good bet that those August/September discount should be released within the next 6 to 8 weeks. Generally, if you are staying at a value resort or a moderate resort, free dining is going to be a huge discount - usually, not always, but usually a bigger discount than you will get off-site or at Swan/Dolphin.
