value resorts

Do any of have a favorite value resort? I really want to stay at a moderate, but we are going with a very big group. My sister's dance studio is performing at the Magic Kingdom in August. We feel like we have to go with the best rates to be fair to everyone and don't know if there would be a way to get a moderate in August for under 94.00. Right now they are saying a value room for 94.00 in August! Yikes!

August it the regular season for the value and moderate resorts. I think we are looking at $122 a night, for a preferred bldg room at AllStarMu. That's in mid-August. We really like Music. But I'm sure any of them would be fine. The pools have no slides and there do seem to be more people wandering around than at the moderates. But, this is where we stay before we move over to BWVs. I have no problem at all with the values. I would suggest that you request one of the bldgs. closer to the main bldg. In Music that would be Jazz. Calypso is the preferred bldg. Jazz is one down.

I have yet to stay at Pop Century, but for me, the ranking of values goes:

POP - own bus system
Movies - most of the time gets its own busses
Sports - first stop on shared route
Music

I have heard that they will be putting most of the groups in the All-Stars, so that increases Pop up a notch in my book.

If you want to stay with the entire large group, you may end up in the country western section at music. I have seen quite a few large groups stuck back there. Also, if you are all booking rooms, I would say to look into a group rate on the rooms and you may be able to get a discount.

Granted.. it was my first resort stay at all.. but I really enjoyed the POP. It was so nice and so fun. We hopped over and visited some AS one night, and I just didn't have the same WARM FUZZY I got at POP.

Of the two AS we've stayed at (Music, Sports), we definitely preferred Music. Of course, in the end we didn't care because we didn't spend much time in the rooms anyway. Next time, we'd definitely like to try Pop or Movies!
