Value Resorts are sold out!

All 4 Value Resorts are sold-out for our dates during free dining. I have a reservation but our friends couldn't get in and just can't afford to upgrade to a moderate. I feel bad because I got them all worked-up and excited about WDW!

I wonder if Disney will bump (upgrade for free) folks to the moderates and DVC properties to open up more Value rooms like they did last year ??

Seriously though!!! Hound them!! Call every day to see if there are openings!!! People cancel trips all the time!! You may get lucky!!!

I know they update the reservations website every night and release rooms that deposits weren't paid on so I will be up at the crack of dawn to check every day!

My guess would be that all the rooms allocated for free dining are currently sold out. That being said, I would continue to call and/or check the wdw website, early in the morning. I was actually booked at Pop, but kept checking around 700-730 every morning, and eventually they released standard view rooms at the Wilderness Lodge, and we upgraded our little tushies right over. I'm very excited, as I haven't stayed deluxe in years! So, keep the faith, you could get someone crazy like me who cancels or upgrades! HTH!

If it's just the free dining rooms that are sold out, they could always go anyway, and just eat cheap if they really want to go.

Check especially as the 45-day out payment date looms. That's when people who booked will start to evaluate their economic situations. Some will start cancelling.

Yes, as I said, it's during free dining the last week of August. They only block so many rooms. But because we still have 5 weeks before the promotion ends, I am sure Disney will work it's magic.

I just cancelled a standard room @ POP yesterday for the dates of 8/24 - 8/31 because my DMIL decided not to go -- so definitely keep checking!

Let me ask this if we have standard view room thru Dreams Unlimited, would I be able to call WDW to see if the balcony view room becomes available or would I have to go thru the agent 1st.

no moderate or value has balcony view rooms - only the dvc and deluxes have them.

you need to go thru your agent.

I was thinking of switching to a mod during my dates(my cousins will be at POR) so I thought it would be fun to be at the same resort. Well, there were no free dining rms available at ANY of the moderates for my dates (9/10 to 9/17)

had one cancelled aug 30 - sept 5 at Pop. changed it to sept 13 - 19 at pop.

was it just your dates that were filled?

don't know what disney will do.

think the upgrade last year was more marketing by DVC than Disney upgrading people. If they sold enough DVC last year they might do it again -but who knows!

DVC marketing only repeats what worked for them. If only a few guests brought last time - don't expect it.

not sure what I think OKW is sold out that week too - will check and get back.

oh I am doing the bounce back not just the free dinning. so some of the rules for just free dinning don't apply. When I tried to trade it for just free dinning - was told nothing was available.

I would not get too hopeful.most of the moderates and some of the deluxes are also out of free dining promo rooms.now of course people do always cancel.

I asked if it was room only or rooms with free dining because there are plenty of people who go during the free dining period but don't do the dining plan. My ds has to book POP for two nights in Sept, the 4th/5th, and I was curious as to whether or not it was just the free dining rooms that were booke for your time frame...whenever it is. Ds is not doing the dining plan because they are there only two nights.
