Value Resorts and Inside Staterooms? Bah Humbug! 30 days of Disney fun! 02/10 Day 30

I went to Kouzzina once shortly after it opened and did not have a good experience. Everything had way too much salt! Did you like it? I think I would like to give it another chance, I love Greek so I would like to have a nice place to eat it at Disney.

Yes, I remember the threads of Kouzzina not being a bad experience. We went then too and didn't find it bad at all.
We have found that the only thing that can be rather salty is the Brussels Sprouts, mainly because of the capers that come in brine.
We only once had salty sprouts, every other time they were really nice.

Hi Karin! I've been so far behind, I don't think I can even comment on everything, except to say Great Updates!!!:thumbsup2 I loved all the pics - I think my favorites were the beautiful shot of EE from across the water, and the close up of the giraffe!

So many food pics! I'm not sure Kouzzina would be our taste, but those donuts might be worth it, just for the raspberry sauce!:thumbsup2

Tammy, having to catch up happens to all of us! ;) Boy has it happened to me a lot!
Glad you like the pics - lots more to come real soon! I intend to update tomorrow. It's already past 10pm here and I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.

Another great day Karin

Your reports make me so excited about our forthcoming trip :goodvibes

Glad I can help with building your excitement! Coming very soon - we're sailing on the WONDER!

What a great report! Thank you! Can't wait for the next days :cool1:

Thank you for reading! I hope to be able to update tomorrow! :thumbsup2

Karin, almost every one of your food pics makes my mouth water. But that whole fish from Kouzzina just doesn't do it for me! I'm sure it tastes good...maybe it's the whole "I don't like my food staring at me" thing.

Many people are turned off by food that looks at them! :lmao: I promise this is going to be the only food that's staring at you! ;)

Karin your pics of the food at Kouzzina looks wonderful. We wanted to visit the Boardwalk and Eat at Cape May in Sept. But now I am thinking of trying something new.:thumbsup2

I can only recommend Kouzzina. Especially if you like European food! We have been three times now and always loved it!
We haven't eaten at Cape May, so I cannot help you with it! But the Boardwalk area is just beautiful. Last summer we walked from Epcot to DHS and it was so much fun to walk along the resorts!

Great updates, you got some great shots from the safari :thumbsup2

Thank you, Stefy! We were lucky with the safaris last summer ....... and we did a lot of them! ;)

Day 11, August 24

A wet day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a late night at Epcot - Part 1

When we woke up and looked out the window it was overcast. So there was no rush to head out the door and we had a leisurely breakfast in our villa.

There were still lots of yummy things in the fridge for Tom to choose from and I still had

the Mickey Head Cake we had bought the night before. Around 9am we left our villa and drove over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
We were to start a new row, so we left the parking lot, drove all the way around and tried again. This time we parked halfway down the parking lot. Fine with both of us. There was quite a line at the turnstiles, but it moved fast and we were soon hitting the stores.

When we got to the tipboard we saw that Toy Story Mania was down and Fast Passes were for the late afternoon. We didn’t want to stay that long so we headed for Tower of Terror.

Both the Tower of Terror and Rock’n’Rollercoaster had 20 minute waits so we picked up a Fast Pass for Tower of Terror and walked over to Rock’n’Rollercoaster.

The wait was shorter than 20 minutes and once we had followed Aerosmith to their concert we walked over to Fairfax Fair where we had a really good look at all the props that we had seen on the Inspiration Tour.

We have walked past them a million times and never really realized they were there. Now we had the time to check them out. Once we were done taking photos we still had time to kill before our Fast Pass for Tower of Terror, so we decided to try if there was a long line for the Great Movie Ride.

There was a bit of a line, but it moved fast, so we stayed and enjoyed our ride into the movies. And then it was finally time to board an elevator at the Hollywood Tower Hotel.
We were stunned as the there was near to no standby line at all and we really would not have needed the Fast Pass. But what the heck, we had them and there we went. We were seated front row and had a blast.

When we left the Hollywood Tower hotel it had started to rain and we decided to get some lunch at Fairfax Fair.

Ok, before I finish reading the rest of your update, WE WERE THERE AT THE SAME TIME!!! How could I have no known that? We grabbed an FP for ToT and headed to RnRc too!!!!

EDIT: Wow....I had no idea they had all that memorabilia there! I must've passed by there 5-6 times.

I love the front row! You can always see yourself best in the picture.

Another great update !!Waiting to hear about FF!!!I see their menu has changed and they no longer have the Brisket which I loved !!!:sad1:

I can't believe you were there too!!! And even at the same attractions! We should have bumped into each other!!!

We must have gone by there so many times and never noticed the memorabilia! Only after it was pointed out to us at the tour we went to have a closer look! It's amazing, you need to check it out next time you go!

Thank you Rosie! We only went to FF because of you! :lmao:
The brisket is gone, but the menu is still quite nice. Update will be done today! :goodvibes

Yummy Mickey Cake for breakfast, your pic makes it look really moist :)

Bummer about TSM being down, but least you got to go on RnR and ToT, is weird that the wait times weren't longer than 20mins with TSM being down.

Great updates... I love all your food choices. So, yummy...

Not to give Disney any excuses but what happened to you guys at Kona is pretty common. As I understand it Disney assigns you your table at the time you check-in. So, they basically guess when someone is going to leave as to which will be the next available table. So, your table either the occupants didn't leave in time or it didn't get bussed quickly. I don't love this method but that is how they do things. This is from my observations.

That Mickey Cake was sooooo good! Not my first and I promise, it won't be my last! AND .... it's a snack credit! ;)

We couldn't believe the lines either! They did say that they were longer now and then, but we were in luck with the rides, I guess it was because it had started raining.

Thank you!

We only have this issue at Kona! You know we eat at Disney a lot, but Kona is the only one that does NOT honour those ADRs! Or maybe they work differently. I guess, next time we will just walk away, if it takes too long.

I have never eaten at Kona ! But I know at 50;s Prime Time we waited excessively long !!All in al I was not overly impressed with it !!!

Finally starting on your TR, don't know how long it will take me to catch up, I will shortly. I'm painting the family room so can't read as long as I would like.:confused3

I'm now caught up on both of your TRs. Love the cruise purse, I may try to get a Disney D&B bag when I go this Sept. BTW, Karin we will be there the same time in Sept. that you will be there! Maybe a meet could be in the works?!:cool1:

So can you tell me more about that Mickey Head cake??? It looks so good. I think you said it was an individual size but what is it like inside (yellow or chocolate or any filling)? Do they sell it anywhere other than the Boardwalk bakery? It just looks so yummy!!!!

While the food is really nice at Kona it can take QUITE a while until you are seated - kind of ticks ME off! ;)
We have never been to 50s! :lmao: Don't know if I want to be picked on while eating! ;)

I haven't updated here as much as I would have liked to, unfortunately real life gets in the way! ;)
But you were real good catching up!! :worship:
I fell for the D & B bags last summer. If only they weren't so expensive. ;) When will you be at WDW? We are staying from Sept 1 - 10, guessing from your ticker that would be the time we overlap?
I would LOVE to meet you!! :thumbsup2

Mickey Head Cake - what is it: It's yellow cake, very nice and moist full of sprinkles who melted into the cake and give it lots of fun colour dots. And yes, it is an individual size. :goodvibes

Karin, I will be there Sept 6, going home on the 12th. We decided to stay two extra days, the DIL & granddaughters will be going home on the 10th.

Now I'm trying to decide wether to up grade to the DXDP. I have the free DDP, but want to upgrade those last two nights.

I've never eaten at LeCellier, it's always booked up. I'm leaning towards Narccosse's.

Yeah! That is perfect! Now we are definitely in for a meet! :woohoo:
Are you staying at Caribbean Beach Resort? Guessing by your ticker!

If you only do DxDDP for 2 days I guess you will be alright! We had the DxDDP for the second part of our trip last summer and it seemed all our days revolved around dining! We won't do it again!

If you want to uprgrade for only 2 nights/days, you will have to have a seperate reservation (and buy at least a 1 day ticket). Just thought I'd say that in case you didn't know.
