Value Resort

I've stayed at POP before and loved it. My next trip, I'm staying at Sports because I want to save some money. I suggest POP but I have a friend who stayed at Sports recently and enjoyed it.

We're staying at Music this weekend for an "adults only" trip. I'll let you know how we like it! I stayed at Pop in December. It was okay, I didn't LOVE it, but I didn't hate it either.

I stayed at ASSp in 2000. No real complaints there either, but I was also 15 years younger and probably not looking for the same things in a resort that I'd look for now!

Pop Century has 2,880 rooms, max capacity 4 for one bus stop and one food court

Sports, Music and Movies each have 1920, 2000 and 1920 rooms respectively, so approx. 1,000 less rooms for each bus stop and food court.

All-Stars usually only share buses during slow times of year or slow time of day (like mid-day). Busier times they have their own bus.

You will usually get on the first bus at an All-Star because the line is shorter.

You can choose to use any of the All-Stars pools and food courts, so lots of variety. All you have to do is walk across a parking lot.

We love All-Star Music. The Jazz section is terrific and not preferred, but the second buildings in. Lovely classic garden in between the rooms and quick access to either pool. Not a long walk tot he mail building either.

Thanks for telling it like it is. All the "oh I prefer POP because of dedicated buses" people you see on the DIS never mention the impact of 1,000 more rooms on their dedicated bus. Or that the All Star Resorts generally only share mid-day when hardly anyone's on the bus anyway.

And don't get me started on the mobbed food court at POP.

All Star Movies and Music were much quieter and less crowded in comparison. And the bus service was awesome when I stayed there.

I gave POP a try because of all the cheerleaders on here, but once was enough. I'm going back to All Star Music next time.

As for which of the three...I picked Movies last time because I liked the theme. I loved it, but trying Music this time. I've heard it tends to attract more adults, and the food court was just recently renovated.

We have stayed at each of the values (in the past when the kids were younger). We found them all to be clean & comfortable. My only recommendation - no matter where you say - is to request a preferred room. There is a small additional fee per night but it is well worth it to be closer to the pool & busses! Less time walking back to your room after a long, tiring day in the parks is a huge bonus :)

What are the beds like? Are they really hard? Our last visit we stayed in the cabins at FW. The mattress was really hard. We did not sleep well at all. I am afraid that, since the beds at the values and the beds at the cabins are all doubles they would be similar in comfort.

Granted it's been 8 years since we've stayed Value, but when we did we thought the beds were very comfortable. They were small, but very comfortable.

I think whether a bed is "comfortable" or not is almost as subjective of "is the food good?" Some like soft beds, some like firm beds, etc.

I found the beds fine. Not quite as nice as the pillow top with the 2" thick mattress pad I have at home. But I had no trouble sleeping.
