Looking at an adult only (yay!) trip to Disney in October. Since it will be a relatively short trip, we're gonna go for a value resort. Looking at the 3 "All Star" resorts... any difference between the three? Is there one that's "better" than the other?

After having stayed in all 3, IMHO the only difference is the theme.

Each resort has a slightly different layout, and it seems to me Movies is optimal in that is has the shortest distance to the room furthest away from the food court. Does that make sense? I think they learned a little something after each one was built :) And I prefer Music over Sports. Pop Century is my fave value resort, though.

I would recommend you price Pop Century, I like staying there better when doing a value and sometimes it's only a couple dollars more per night. It's also a fast walk across the lake (there's a bridge) and you have the art of animation which is heavily decorated, probably the most disney decorated resort there is.

IIIRC one of the all stars doens't have a food court but it's so close to another that you use that one. It's not a bad walk but if your a morning coffee type person and your getting the food court coffee, it might be more of a hike than you'd like if you need to run back your cup before leaving to a park.

Just for accuracy sake, all 3 All Stars have their own food court.

I live Music the best for an adults only trip. It tends to be quieter than the others. I just got back last night!!!

We have done two Adults only trips at Sports and one at Movies, we preferred the bus service at sports by far (it is the first stop). We enjoy the theming, and the food court. That would be my choice. We also have stayed at POP a few times, but both times had multiple problems.

I have stayed at POP and Music and toured and eaten at Sports and Movies. We have stayed at Music the past five trips because we just love it there. My wife and I are in our 60's and we travel alone and find Music to be peaceful, clean and the best staff in the world. Take a look at my picture. Those are some of the girls from the gift shop. I have been there for cheerleaders, dance, football, band and yet never had any problems with noise, rowdy kids, etc. Honestly, the three All Satrs are really no different but I can say we keep going back to Music because of the staff

POP usually goes for around $10 more a night so you may want to check that out as well. We like POP for our value stays. Music had it's food court refurbed recently.

Its probably a stupid question but exactly how do the busses work? Is there a schedule or route that they always follow or what?

We've actually found from time to time that Pop is equal cost to AS. I may be mistaken but I think there is also a tax difference at AS which can impact the rate differential between the two.

The tax difference is very small - 1/2 of a percent maybe? But you are right it would reduce the actual price difference.

ASSp is the most convenient - first bus pick up and drop off.

ASMu is more 'adult' in atmosphere and has a pretty fountain/garden between the Jazz buildings.

ASMo has the best animated Disney theme.

there was a time for us when the theme was more important. In those days I would have chosen ASMo. these days it is all about convenience, so I would choose ASSp.

As a pp suggested pop is also a great option worth considering.

I've stayed at POP (multiple times) and once at AS Music. I loved the theming at Music and agree with PP that it has a slightly more adult vibe to it. But the busing situation when I was there in Feb was not good & I couldn't help but compare it to POP's dedicated and more smoothly run system. I am going back to POP in the Fall because the bus system is superior IMHO and since I spend the majority of my time in the parks not at the resort, efficient transpo is a huge issue for me. I also like the easy access to AoA's food court across the bridge. Top floor room, water view in the 50s bldg gives me a nice little view of some of the fireworks and is peaceful and quiet at night.

Time to board THE SAD BUS!!!!BOOOOOOOO!!!!:):):):)

POP is the nicest and Movies is nicer than Music and Sports.:)

Movies was the last All-Star built and they "plussed" it some-the bus stop area is bigger, the Merchandise Shop is bigger, the Lobby is bigger/nicer,the Food Court is nicer(but not so much now that Music and Sports have rebuilt theirs) and the Pool Bar is bigger/nicer.:)

if you ever get a chance walk through Movie's main building and then walk through Music or Sports' main building and you can really see the difference.

That being said I would still just select based on Theme preference.:)
