We are doing a last minute budget trip in a couple weeks
We were going to stay value but i never thought of the tour groups when i was considering hotels. We dont usually visit at this time of the year
I heard people say they are up very late yelling and knocking on doors.
Our kids arent young but we want sleep too.

Would u chance a value or bite the bullet and upgrade? To what?

We've stayed Value when sports teams, cheerleaders, tour groups, etc have been there and never had an issue. In fact the only time I've had an issue with other guests being loud at all hours and banging on doors was at Poly and Beach Club.

You will be right at the APEX of The 15s!lol

And they are extra excited because of the World Cup!(especially Brazil and Uruguay!).:)

Many Guests do not like them and some will even ask for a room change if they are close to them.

But,we have found them to be really nice young ladies-just a different culture and they are VERY excited to be at WDW!lol:)

I say go for it-they introduced Super Greeters a few years ago and that has helped a lot.

I think everyone should experience life with The 15s at least once!:)

The issue is the Brazilian tour group girls. They are just out of control. For some reason, no one can seem to rein them in. Their chaperones almost egg them on. Disney doesn't seem to care. They have put more Portuguese speaking CMs in the parks so there isn't a language barrier. But, at the resorts? Nothing. If you have an issue with them, at night, go directly to the lobby and talk to someone there. Do not call from your room. You will be getting a call center, and they won't do much. If it continues, after talking to the front desk people, go back and ask to be moved...to either a different area of the resort where the girls aren't at, or to an entirely different resort.
It isn't fair that one group of guests is allowed to make lives miserable for other, paying guests. But, Disney seems to really want the money these groups bring in. Having said all this.....the last time I stayed at Pop, there was a huge group of girls celebrating quinceeaneras. There had to be 50 of them, all traveling together. I will admit to groaning when I saw them and then walked by the huge number of decorated windows, showing the rooms they were staying in. BUT, I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that this group was never out of control. They did have their own bus transportation, and they were well behaved in the food court (well, as well behaved as a group of teen girls can be!!!). There was no running around, screaming at night. Never heard a peep from them. I was so impressed that I mentioned it to the front desk. The CM was so surprised to get a good report about a BTG (Brazilian Tour Group). She said she would certainly pass it along to management.

we haven't had an issue with being kept awake.

large groups did have an impact on buses and the food court, but not terrible. (It was at a different time of year.)

I would probably upgrade if I could, but I don't think that it is necessary. If I couldn't upgrade, I would still go to WDW and stay value.

At Pop now with lots of tour group kids and we have had zero issues with them. From what we have seen so far is vastly different than our experiences in the past. The kids have not been out of control at all. Have not heard any chanting or seen any rudeness at all. I think something changed and they actually have been reigned in. Maybe Disney got strict with them or something. I did not expect this. We have been pleasantly surprised. If this continues the rest of our trip we will not worry about them any more.

Good to hear- at Pop beginning of August.
I also wonder if Disney reigned them in. Waaaay back when I did the DCP in 1991 we had the first gulf war going on and tourism was way way down, and supposedly Disney had previously banned these groups and were now allowing them back. Needed the dollars I guess. So it makes me really wonder-what with the rising prices, full parks and probably numerous CM and guest complaints- if Disney issued stricter guidelines, as in we no longer need your money.
At any rate as long as they are restricted from sending one kid to hold a spot in line for 25, I'm good.

I've seen several reports, within the last two days, of these groups at the All Stars...and they aren't behaving. I have to wonder if each resort has it's own way of handling things.

The last two times I've stayed at Sports there was some sort of event going on. The only way we even knew they were there was part of the parking lot was blocked off near the center they were using and you would see them in the morning heading off to the center. We didn't hear any noise and there weren't any problems in the food court. To be fair, we only eat breakfast in the food court and it's usually after everyone else has headed off to where they are going and we ask for a room kind of far away from the front since walking is not a problem for either my son or myself.

As you can see in my signature I have many many stays at the values. The ONLY group I've ever had issues with has been Cheer Summit the end of April. Snotty LOUD kids with wretched chaperones.

AT ANY stay at the values, I request TOP floor, landscape view. Quieter that way!

Maybe that is the case. We have been so pleasantly surprised that we have heard nothing at Pop and while we have seen them frequently in parks and Disney Springs and at the resort they have been so well behaved. We have seen a wide variety of the groups. A lot of 15’s and a lot of mixed boy/girl groups and even one group that seemed to be made up of families. We don’t dread them like in the past - although we don’t want to be in line behind a big group of them!

Shocking,just shocking!lol:)

It sounds like maybe Brazil and Argentina aren't being "kept apart"!lol(Although ALL South American Tour Groups are called Brazilian Tour Groups by many, there are actually equal numbers from Argentina as well as smaller numbers from Chile,Uruguay,Paraguay,etc.).:)

Last July,we were at Surfbaord Bay one day and an ATG and a BTG were both in the Pool and,of course, saw each other and "met" in the middle and started splashing each other and "taunting" each other back and forth-Portuguese coming from one side and Spanish from the other!lol

Most Guests had no idea what was happening and looked on in amazement!:)

Management let it go on for about 5 minutes and then told them to shut it down and they both returned to their respective "corners of the ring"!

We felt like we were in the middle of West Side Story!lol:)

And then there was the "incident" between a BTG and ATG in End Zone when they were both in End Zone watching he World Cup Finals in 2014.

The Brazil/Argentina dynamic between The 15s is really intense.

I've been at POP during Pop Warner week and several stays at the All Stars when there were the tour groups and sport teams/cheerleaders. For the most part it was fine. I did find that the groups/teams tend to take over at certain times of the day. Breakfast being the worst. The groups also tend to congregate in doorways making it difficult to get through. I actually found that the cheer chaperones where by far the worst behaved people we experienced....loud, rude, drunk.

I wouldn't really worry about staying at a resort with any of these groups. I have been told a couple of times that groups/teams are all accommodated in very close proximity to one another and in the farthest corners of the property. Other guests are placed as far away as possible, when possible.

.

THis has been my exact experience! I've had the misfortune of sharing a resort during Cheer Summit 3 times and honestly, the (female) chaperones were worse than the kids--and that's saying something.....

I have not had a single issue with any of the kids. The one very tiny exception to that is the tour groups. As I said they congregate in doorways for some reason and play the 'we don't speak english' card. So you say excuse me like three times before you just push your way through and as you get past they all laugh. It's clearly some kind of game to them.

In general, the cheerleaders and sports teams are busy competing and aren't at the resorts much. Any free time they have is spent in the parks. Also, they tend to go home as soon as they are finished competing.

What months do these groups usually visit WDW? I've seen the BTG's in the summer, but how about the other groups? I'm planning a mother/daughter trip next May and we're planning to stay in the value resorts (our first time), so I'm just curious. Thanks!

There are groups and teams year round.

We were at Pop with many 15’s in Jan and didn’t have a single issue. Saw them often but they were considerate and quiet. Not all experiences are the same but this was ours.
