Hi: If you had to compare a value and a moderate to a hotel chain, which would you compare them too? I am looking for quality, comfort, etc. Maybe instead of comparing the chain, how would you compare the class of hotel?

POFQ is not as spread out as the other mods or the values.

POR CBR and CSR are very spread out.

The Values are laid out closer together.

The mods have pool slides, a hot tub and a sit down restaurant (POFQ doses not have a sit down restaurant but shares with POR.

There is not much room size difference between a mod and a value.

Here is the layout of a mod.
The bathroom is about the same size as the All Stars but you will have 2 sinks instead of one.

The mod has 54 square feet more than the value.
That means if both the mod and the value room were 27 feet long than the mod would be 2 feet wider. Just enough room for a double sink instead of a single.

There is not a lot of room size difference.

Both the values and the moderates are like motels in that the rooms exit to the outside. There are no interior hallways. But, the comfort, decor and amenities of the room are hotel quality. I stayed at a Holiday Inn recently (I don't travel much, so this is my only point of reference) and would say the rooms were comparable. Clean, neatly decorated, not always configured in the best way, but overall very good. Is that what you were asking?

Yes thanks! I just was curious if the difference was a Holiday Inn Express vs. a Crown Plaza or something.

Never stayed at a value, but I would be surprised if they differ too much from the moderates. Maybe one less sink or amenity (e.g., coffee maker). I think the greater difference is in the hotel attributes (e.g., restaurants, bars, pools), and possibly the appeal of the grounds. To answer your question, I would compare the moderate to a Holiday Inn or Courtyard Marriott (except that the doors open to the outside). I'd say three out of five stars. Definitely CLEAN though, which is most important.

Whenever we travel (apart from Disney), we like to stay in four stars or better. But the Disney deluxes are just too pricey for us. So the choice is between a 4-star non-Disney hotel and the moderates. For us, this is a no-brainer - you just can't beat the onsite feeling and benefits. Hope this helps.
