Hello,

I'm new to the idea of renting points to stay in a villa. From what I can tell, it sounds like a good idea. I am looking at the different point charts for 2-bedroom vacation homes and one sticks out as much cheaper than the others; the value accommodations at the AKL. For the type of stay I'm looking at (Tue-Sun in 10/08), it would be about 20 points less than all of the other 2-bedroom vacation homes in WDW.

My question(s) is(are), is this too good to be true? Are these homes much smaller than the others? Are these homes even available in 10/08? Is it reasonable that someone with AKL points to rent would be able to make a reservation for a value & rent points to me? Am I missing anything else? Remember, I'm new to the DVC concept & may very well be overlooking something very basic.

Off topic, my kids (6 and 2) loved the slide at Port Orleans French Quarter pool; it wasn't too big or scary (unlike, for example, the Boardwalk Villas pool slide). How is the slide at AKL? Is it small enough for a 2-year old to enjoy, or is it too big?

Thank you.

There aren't many value accomodations at the AKV, and they "open" for business in December, so no firsthand reports yet! I agree that the points are a bargain, if you don't need the "normal" space, because they are smaller. The views are either of the parking lot, the pool, or the savannah.

Is the pool you are referring to, the one that looks like a dragon? I would think that would be a bit scary! I can't comment on the slide at AKV, I swam in off hours...night and early morning, so the slide was closed.

The slide at AKL is really not challenging at all. It's among my least favorite of the pool slides. I prefer CSR, and POR to it.
