Valet with TIW

Tonight I was asked by the valet service to present my restaurant receipt with the TIW discount/TIW card for free valet. We dine at big river grill and was told not qualified for free valet fortunately we had desert at beaches n cream otherwise extra $12 bucks.

That doesn't surprise me - I've seen others report the same, but I was involved in a discussion as to whether they would actually look close enough @ your receipt to see if you used the TiW card for your meal, or if that mattered. I guess it does if they said Big River wouldn't qualify. Makes sense - since the free valet is supposed to be when you're using your TiW card.

This has been my experience since free valet for DVC members went away. Not only do they always ask for receipt, they log it in a book. (In my previous experience they never asked for a receipt.)

Not to hijack your thread, but is there a time limit on the free valet with TIW? We haven't had to valet since the free DVC perk went away, and I'm wondering if we need to watch our time now.

Yes, there is. I'd have to look at the TIW card or at their website. I was surprised about the length of time as it was short.

We ate at the GF 3 times in May and valet parked. We were asked for our receipt and TiW card EVERY time. Actually the CM at the GF told us to tell them we have the TiW card when we arrive, which we did on the second visit, then when we returned to the podium we just had to show our dining receipt because the ticket in our car already was noted as a TiW cardholder.

The only stipulation about time that I recall seeing on the TIW information sheet relates to receiving a refund for theme park parking if you are there for dining only. I wish I still had the sheet!

Here is what in posted on the passholder website in regards to valet and parking at the theme parks with a TiW card:

• Resort valet services are complimentary to members, for the sole purpose of dining. This privilege will only be extended to one vehicle per membership card. Present your membership card with a valid dining receipt at the Valet Stand upon retrieving your vehicle.
• Theme Park parking is complimentary to members, for the sole purpose of dining. Before 5:00pm, please pay for parking at the Toll Plaza. Visit Guest Relations on your way out of the Theme Park, and if it has been less than 3 hours, show your membership card and dining receipt for reimbursement for parking. After 5:00 p.m., members can show their membership card at the toll plaza to enter the parking lot. Theme park admission is required for dining in all Theme Park restaurant locations. On Block-Out dates, there will be a charge for parking and valet services.
