Valet Parking Question

I know that DVC members get free valet parking at DVC resorts. Do they also get free valet parking at the non-DVC hotels (like the Poly, Contemporary, etc.)?

I ask the question because I just stayed at the Grand Californian on points and was charged the valet fee . . . . . .

The free Valet Parking is only at DVC resorts that have valet parking. Grand Californian is not yet officially DVC. No word on if the free parking will extend to that property.

Currently we only get free valet parking (Plus a tip) at BCV, BWV, VWL and AKV.

Although the Grand Calif does charge a valet parking fee if you use Valet, there is a free 'self park' option. And there is no resort fee when staying on DVC points. Maybe when the Villas get built we will get free Valet, but who knows. We can only hope.

Sorry to sort of hjack this thread. If we utilize the free valet parking during a stay at BCV and have dinner at the Polynesian, should we be paying for valet at the Polynesian. As I am reading the threads on this subject, I believe we would have to but we were not charged for valet at the Polynesian last August when we did this.

If you get the free valet at BCV, if you leave the check slip in the car, sometimes they will not charge again. You also get free valet with the Disney Dining Experience Card (when dining at that resort).

I was told by the valet at VWL that we were not entitled to the slip in our window/hangtag/receipt since we didn't pay for valet parking.
