I'm sure this been answered multiple times on the board but can't seem to find it. We driving in this Saturday
Was wondering something (we staying at Wyndham bonnet Creek so we have to pay to park in Disney this trip)
If we pay the $20 to valet park vs paying $20 dollars at the Disney world to park do they allow you to stay parked their all day in valet or is the three hour limit apply to valet parking ? We wanted to hit parks early at rope drop and then go back to the resort we parked at and check the Christmas decorations then leave late in the evening and grab a bite at the resort we parked at.

I'm not trying to beat Disney out by not paying to park but if I can pay the parking at resort for valet it would be preferable but don't want to break the rules and be towed.

The deluxe resort parking fee is now $25 a day plus tip to your valet runner. You can park all day at one resort or switch to another deluxe resort say to park for dinner. If you move resorts you are expected to tip the valet at both resorts. Once you see these young men running and I do mean running for your car, you will understand the need to tip.

So then is it correct that you can valet park at a deluxe resort even without an ADR?

It depends on capacity. We always book an ADR at the resort we want to valet (usually Contemporary or GF) and have never had a problem BUT two Fridays ago, I saw a car in front of us get turned away at the Grand Floridian because they only had room for guests and those with ADRs. So if you plan to eat there anyway, book a reservation, just in case.

Thank you :flower3:

Yes, if they have room.

Make sure to build in extra time into your schedule (re: ADRs & FP+) in case you arrive and they are not accepting valets without a resort ADR. You would then have to turn around and head to park lot.

That is correct. The only time you will be turned away form valet would be it valet was also full and I have never seen that happen. I am not saying it has not happened or cannot happened just that if a resort was that full I don't think I would want to be there anyway.

So the next question is for mother in law she is coming up from ft Myers meeting us in the park around 1 (we doing rope drop) she has a handicap placard and she is saying she can and does park free at resorts valet she only tips. I find that hard to believe but is this true ?if that's free parking for valet at the resorts why do they charge handicap in the general parking lots ?

yes this is true she only has to tip I will tell you on my last December trip ( I went closer to Christmas ) the valet parking ( some where near the board walk was full and they were only letting resort guest/ those with ADR use the valet parking we ended up using one of the handy cap spots and walking over to EPCOT to spend the day so just be warned they do some times only let resort those with ADR in to use the valet parking. if I were you I would just drive to the main parking lot ( would be 5 less - tip) to park the boat morn rail runs early enough that you will get there in plenty of time ( MK is always my last day trip so I drive and I have never had a problem getting to the rope drop area 30 to 45 minutes early)

So if handicap is free then could she not just get past the guard gate and park in handicap spot and avoid the valet stand all together or does she run the risk of getting towed without checking in at valet ?

this is what my friend did he just parked in a handicap spot I would check with the guard at the gate and make sure she can do this ( some times you have to have a parking pass to park) when I went with my friends in December we went to the contrary for the DVC ( I think it is called top of the world ) well we drove and the guard said they had a two hour limit then since it was so busy. but like I said it may be best to just park at the main lot and not write about getting there and finding you have a two hour limit. you can easy take the morniral to other hotels and then back to the TTC to get your car at the end of the day. the you only have to ark one time pay one fee ( $20)

Yes VALET is free for handicapped ......... but that doesn't mean she would get in to use a regular handicapped spot. Handicapped spots at the resort in general are for the hotel guests and those with ADRs. Disney does allow folks to visit to shop and do QS but that would have the 3 hour limit apply. During busier times of year or events (maybe even a convention there you just don't know) then anyone that isn't a guest or have an ADR can be turned away - valet available or not. They have to keep valet an option for their guests. There is no way to know until you get to the gate if they will allow her to enter and use valet, so have a backup plan.

Along similar lines, we have a 3:55 dinner at Ohana booked- could we valet in the morning around 8-9, go to MK, and then head back to the Poly for our ADR? Or would there be potential for us to get turned away because our ADR is so far in advance?

If you are a DVC member visiting the Top of the World Lounge at BLT, DVC has instructed members not to drive to the resort and to use Disney Transportation.

We have been to the Contemporary Resort and saw the security guards at the gate turning away cars who wanted to valet park but were not staying or dining at the resort. The line to enter the parking lot was backed way up with two lines of cars trying to enter the lot. They had a guard at the automatic arm (where you enter and touch your magic band to enter) who was either allowing or not allowing guests to enter. I heard the guard at the station tell the car next to us that they could not valet park if they weren't staying at the resort or did not have an ADR.

Poly is walking distance from the TTC. You'd be better off parking in the MK lot. No risk of getting turned away, and much easier IMO.

It could depend if you can get past the gate. They will let you use valet as long as it is not full, but if the resort itself is busy, which this time of year they usually are, then you might be required to have a dinner reservation to get in the gate.

Hmmm, I'd like to know the answer to that too,

Thanks

It all depends on how busy/full they are when you get there. No way to definitively know the answer beforehand.
