Valet Parking at DVC Resorts

We usually stay onsite while at WDW, but booked a good deal through II at a resort near Sea World in July. We planned on spending most of our time at this resort or Sea World until we move into Beach Club for a few nights. I just found out that friends on ours are also going with us, and they want to see the Disney resorts while they are there for a few days. Are we allowed to valet park at the DVC resorts free since I am a member and is there a time limit? We will want to eat dinner, visit the other resorts in the Boardwalk area, and go to Atlantic Dance. I don't want to return and find my car is towed.
Thanks,
Becky

You would get free valet parking at BC, BW or WL by showing your member card. If your friends were by themselves, it's $6. I've never had a time limit on self parking at Boardwalk or Beach Club, but we always had a WDW parking permit. I would show the guard your DVC card and he will let you through.

You can walk to the other resorts that is BW and of course the Yacht Club is attached to BC. You can also walk to MGM and Epcot from the BC or BCV. That is the beauty of staying at BCV or BWV they are so close to everything. You can valet park for nothing at any DVC resort, don't forget the tip. Atlantic Dance is just a stone throw away also.

I'm don't think this is correct. If I understand the rules, a DVC member only gets free valet parking at DVC resorts when they are staying on points. If you are staying off property you would have to pay for valet parking just like anyone else, even if you are a DVC member.

I would think self-parking would not be an issue. The guard will probably let you through if you show your member card (or tell the him/her you are eating dinner there or something) and I've never heard of a time limit.

That is what I thought until yesterday when I looked it up.
This is what the DVC site says about this.

Valet Parking at the Walt Disney World® Resort
Disney Vacation Club Members are not charged for valet parking at Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Resort or Disney's Wilderness Lodge, regardless of where you're staying. You must present your Disney Vacation Club Member card or Walt Disney World Resort ID with your "DVC Member" designation on it when leaving your vehicle to be parked.

I guess "the regardless of where you're staying" pretty much covers this.

We stayed at VWL last year with my in-laws (who are also members). We had a WDW parking permit for our car, but they did not have one for theirs. They got free valet parking by showing their DVC membership card.

I have stopped by the resorts on business trips thru Orlando to eat and/or kill some time. Just showed the DVC card to Security and told them I was visiting and to the Valet for parking. Have never had a problem.
