Vacuum recommendations?

My vacuum just kicked the bucket!!

I'm looking for recommendations on a good (decent priced) vacuum. I would love to get a Dyson but I just don't have $400 to spend right now.

Anyone have any that they would recommend?

I'm in the market for a new vacuum cleaner myself. I'm leaning toward the Dyson DC15 Animal. However, I thought you might like to see what Consumer Reports (CR) has to say. These are CR's top five upright models:
